I was cited for going 41mph in a 25mph area. I am 16 and this is obviously my first offense. I've been reading up on lots of websites and they all agree on one thing- Plead not guilty and blame the laser accuracy. What do you think? What am i expecting, if proven guilty, in court fees, ticket fee, and insurance increses? Should I expect Insurance increases even if im proven innocent? A friend told me I should write an appology paper about how sorry i am and how much of a priviledge driving is...will the court even take the time to look at this. Why don’t police officers enforce laws like the speed limit?
Nearly 100% of drivers, unfortunately, jeopardize safety by breaking the law and speeding. Why don't police officers enforce this better? Speeders endanger others and risk killing themselves and others, which is why there is a speed limit law.

I pleaded guilty at first because it was my first ticket and I was afraid to tell my parents. I knew that if I had pleaded NOT guilty than the court hearing would go to my house and they would find out. I decided to tell them. So now they know but I paid it off already. So I wanted to plead not guilty now

Lost Speeding Ticket?
I got a "notice to appear in court"/ticket for an infraction for speeding a few months ago from the Los Angeles Police Dept. On the actual ticket given to me on site it said the date I need to appear in court with my parent, since i was a minor when i received the ticket. Later in the mail i got a notice saying that the date i needed to be in court was changed.
I lost the notice saying when the date was changed to, and i dont remember what it was at all (though i think it is within the next few days) but i still have the ticket. does anyone know what i should do? should i possibly try to call someone about this?
My attorney didn’t show up for court for a speeding ticket. How do I get my money back from the attorney?
I got a speeding ticket and hired an attorney to see about getting the points withheld. I was told that the attorney would show up to court for me and I would receive a letter in the mail from the attorney's office advising of the outcome. I didn't receive my letter from the attorney's office yet, but I did get a "Memo of Sentencing" from the court house. It appears that my attorney did not show up but the memo isn't clear. I am unable to call the court house until tomorrow, since it's the weekend. Under Defendant, it says "Def & Attny not present" and under special conditions it says "TBC held w/out defendant and attny".
I prepaid this attorney 0.00 via check. I am going to ask him for a refund of course, but if he doesn't give me one, should I immediately file a claim with small claims?
Please don't leave stupid/thoughtless comments about how speeding is illegal and I should deal with the consequences. My question is how to deal w/ the fact that my attny didn't show.
Also, would it be possible to file a complaint with the State Bar?

Alright here is the deal, this Monday i got pulled over by this idiot cop who gave me a speeding ticket for going something like 8-10 mph over...I'm 17 going on 18 and have had my license for about a year and a half or longer. I have had no prior tickets, violations, ect. It was a 75 dollar fine which im paying....but im really worried about my insurance, my parents pay it, and i havn't told them about the ticket, im just going to pay it...so my question is...will they notice a dramatic change in my insurance rates? for one speeding ticket? oh and also, i live in idaho...i know these things vary by state.
If I had to pay a speeding ticket, is that considered being convicted of a moving traffic violation?

I have a speeding ticket that I received while I was renting a car in NJ that I naively ignored until now... this is because I just received a Notice of Warrant for Arrest. I am specifically interested in my case, i.e. NJ-CA. I have a valid driving license in California and my questions are:
1) Is this warrant valid in California, i.e., can i get arrested here? (According to: http://www.carinsurance.com/kb/content20603.aspx since CA does not NRVC, the warrant is not honored in CA)
2) How many points will I get and I can beat the points by going to traffic school? (According to this, I get one point: http://www.dmv.ca.gov/dl/vioptct.htm#oneoutofstate)
3) Will it affect my insurance?

I was wondering if I'm I eligible to go to traffic school? I have not gotten a ticket in over 2 years (traffic school cleared it) If I am not eligible, what can I do to plead for traffic school? Do I have to go to the arraignment and ask the judge for the chance of traffic school? Or is there a different process to do this?

In order to prepare your own speeding ticket defense, are you able to sit in on other trials at traffic court?
I have an upcoming trial date in traffic court, and I want to gain some knowledge in order to beat the ticket. One way I figure is to sit in the back of the small courtroom and learn how other people are pleading their own cases. I know that in regular courtroom cases, the gallery is open to all visitors. Therefore I want to know is the traffic violations court open for all to see, even when it's not my day of trial.

I got a speeding ticket today during a police speed trap...I got a 4 point ticket. I was thinking of going to court to contest it, so at least I wouldn't have that many points on my insurance. I got a speeding ticket passing through VA on my way to Maryland. I will not be able to attend my court date and will have to just pay the fine. My question is do I have to go to court to request traffic school? Also, my license is from California and my car is registered in North Carolina. Does the ticket get forwarded to where my license is from or where my car is registered?
