If I am going 55.7 mph in a zone where 55 mph is the speed limit, according to the law (not to common sense) am I going over the speed limit?

I had a rough week, received two separate photo radar speeding tickets..What I’m wondering is if I take defensive driving school, will I be able to have the tickets dropped from my record? I’m not worried so much about points as I haven’t gotten a ticket in several years, I just don’t want my insurance rates to skyrocket for the next 10 years

i got one yesterday, and one today. i know i know, i have the worst of luck and was following traffic on the second one. i don’t need chastising. what do/can i do? do i go to court, hire a lawyer, pay the fees? what do u suggest?
they were both for 10 miles over the limit. also, what to do w/regards to my insurance?
ust one was in a construction zone… is the fee gonna be doubled or is it the actual fee written?

I recently got a speeding ticket and now i’m looking around for a good lawyer to represent me in court. Last ticket i got i had to pay for court fees and the total of that plus the lawyer came out to almost the actual ticket, so wuts the point? Does the quality of the lawyer affect whether you end up paying for court fees? or are they indipendent of that? Thanks.

So a week and a half ago I got a speeding ticket. It was a traffic one, and I was originally going 10 over (had nooo idea I was because I was just going with teh flow of traffic). The cop wrote me for 5 over, but put my original speed in the "remarks" part of the ticket. Now I’m trying to get this ticket ammended to a violation with 0 points such as impeding traffic, but still will pay the fine. I only care about not getting the points on my record. I’m going to send in a written explanation for this ticket (which my city says I can do), because a court date is too hard for me with my strenuous schools and volunteering schedule this spring and summer. Does anyone have a clue as to what I should write in this explanation giving my reasoning for speeding taht’s formal, proper and legitimate?

Are there any hawaii traffic schools? I don’t want to have to pay for going 70 on an interstate for 3 years of insurance

When you are going 85 in a 55. My speedometer is a a little over 10. So i thought i was going 75 or so. I live in Florida.

i got a speeding ticket. it came in the mail. it was 5. its due till june 26. if i pay it will it go on my record? or should i do traffic school till then and then pay it? what can i do so it wont go on my record or affect my insurance?

I have decided to go before the judge and ask if the fine can be reduced due to that my husband is deployed to Iraq and funds are tight. My husband is also a police officer and I know better. I’ve heard of so many accidents due to careless driving and I am a safe driver. Is it too much to advise the Judge that prior to this ticket I have maintained a clean record for 6 years with no accidents or prior speeding In addition I advised the citing officer that the reason I was accelerating in the number 1 lane was to safely pass the car in the number 2 lane so that I could merge over in time to reach the exit preventing the other moterist in lanes 2-4 from braking for me. My question is how much info should I give the judge without pissing him off or giving too much irrelivant information? I’m not trying to get out of the ticket I’m just requesting it be reduced. I need advise on what info listed above I should give and what I should leave out.
I dont have kids thank god but thanks for the tip. I dont think it’s a good idea walking in looking like a 2 cent hooker.

any ideas how to lower a fine

i received a ticket in the state of PA, but my license in from NJ. The ticket was 20 miles over (85 in a 65 zone)the limit. i went to court and the judge said she will reduce it 5 miles, but she made a mistake that i didn’t originally notice. the judge wrote 80 in a 55 zone. so now i’m 25 over the limit. how many points will i get? will this affect my insurance? by the way this is my first offense

I have 3 points on my license already, and i was driving home on a road which is a 40mph zone about 200 yards away from it turning into a 60zone. about 2 minutes later i was pulled for speeding. When i was on the 40 zone i started speeding up and was going 59mph, and on the side of the road was an undercover police man with a speed camera in his car. Another police car pulled me taking the third parties word that i was speeding. there was no signs about speed traps and he was undercover, is there any way i can avoid these 3 more points? i am a delivery driver and i would lose my job. the only things i can think of to fight this is if the speed gun was calibrated correctly or plea for a speeding course. any suggestions?

I was going 28 MPH over the speed limit and i was issued 4 dollars over what is permitted. I was wondering if there is anything i can do to get out of this ticket because of this error.

Also, what should i expect from the online traffic school. I live in CA , in the bay area.
