I was going 95 on the freeway, in a 65…. How can I possibly fight this and win?

I want to say I was going with the speed of traffic, because it was at 10:40am on a weekday… and if I wasn’t going with the flow of traffic I would of hit someone long before the cop got me with a lidar scan.

yes I am admitting right now that I did go 95… but how the heck do I get out of it when I go to court?

I live in new jersey. When i was in California i got a speeding ticket in the Grover beach area. The ticket was for 80 in a 55. All the info on the actual ticket is correct i.e- name, address license number etc. I got the courtesy letter in the mail telling me the amount of the ticket and my options. While examining the letter i noticed that on the header, where it has all my info, my license number was incorrect. The license number was missing a "0" there are supposed to be 3 0’s and they only wrote 2 0’s. my question is, being that on file in the computer the info is incorrect so i can ignore it all, or being that on the actual ticket it is correct i have to treat everything as normal?

I got pulled over going 92 on a 55 mph because I went by to pass a slow car in front of me. I switched to the passing lane and sped up to pass. I was just wondering how much the ticket cost me. Does age matter? I am 18, and I’m wondering if that adds up the cost too.

I got a speeding ticket a couple months ago and my court appearance was for October 2nd, I asked for an extension to complete traffic school and pay the fine. It was extended until November 3rd, I completed traffic school and I’m ready to pay the fine amount but, my certification of completing traffic school won’t come until a few business days. Can I get it extended again? The office is closed on Saturdays so, I have no idea what to do.
Well the thing is, I don’t have to show up for court I already plead guilty. So all I have to do is pay the fine and take a traffic school course so it won’t affect my insurance, It’s my first traffic citation. What I’m asking is can I extend the date to turn all my information in. Which was suppose to be the 3rd of November, I would have done it sooner but I didn’t have the money for it all until recently.

The question is self-explanatory, but I was wondering what are the options available to me. I know that they have the 25mph penalty level thing, but I was going to 15mph over the speed limit. Traffic school?

I just got a ticket for possesion of marijuana. I know its a 100 dollar fine but what else since two years ago I got a speeding ticket and was put on probahtion because of it.

I received my first speeding ticket and I’m curious of what this is going to cost me.. The ticket is for doing 70 MPH in a 40 zone–I didn’t even know I was going that fast, I was just trying to duplicate a noise from my engine on my way to complain to the dealer.

Does anyone know about how much this is going to cost me? Will it affect my insurance? Points on my license? Will traffic school reduce cost of the ticket, keep any points from going o my license, or reduce any effects to my insurance? Is it worth it to plea my case to a judge?

So it seems speeding tickets 25 mph over the speed limit are ineligible for traffic school.. anyone out there have any luck going to court and catching a break from the judge?

I got a ticket today, which really sucks because i alwasy try to stay as close as possible to the speed limits.

I got a speeding ticket for going 40mph on a 25mph school zone. The officer told me i was going 40mph which i was but he put 49mph which is not correct and i didnt notcie this until i got home where i checked my ticket.
this happend around 7:30am and the kids dont enter that school until 10am and i know this because my sister attends that school and right after passing the light the speed limit is 40mph on that street.

Im worried about the 49mph the officer put which is not correct and was suppose to be 40mph.

what are my options?
what do i have to do?

ive never gotten a ticket before.

what would i have to do to get it out of my record so it can remain clean and also not get any points onto my drivers license and not make my insurance go up.

The thing is that I never saw the reduced speed limit sign, because it was facing my right. I assumed it was 35 because the speed limit is normally 45. The cops were just waiting with their radar guns. I had no idea the sign said 25. I feel like I got scammed, like a real cheap shot. There was one construction worker at the corner, but where I got stopped there were none in sight.

i was caught speeding and the cop said i was going well over 80 in a 45 but the ticket shows he didnt use a radar or laser. i wanted to know if i will have any chance of going to traffic school even tho its 25mph over the speedlimit?
if i went to the court is it posible the judge might be leniant and still send me to traffic school?

I received a speeding ticket today. The police officer clocked me at 39mph in a 25mph zone around a high school. How much will my speeding ticket be?

He said I can take traffic school since I have not in the past 18months. But not sure how much my ticket will be.

Hi guys, I got a speeding ticket back in December for going 85 on a 65. Anyway, my court date was set for February 10th. The ticket told me to show up at the Superior Court even though I turn 18 March 2nd. I showed up and they told me to show up at the Juvenile Court but I had to go to work so I forgot about it. Anyway, the clerk at the Superior Court told me that the officer made a mistake by writing superior court instead of juvenile court on my ticket even though I am not 18 yet by the Court date. Any suggestions on what I should do?

I’m not trying to get out of the ticket, I missed my court date because of this mistake and now I’m fearing a failure to appear because of a mistake I didn’t do.

I am 16 and I got a speeding ticket. I was going about 75-80 on the freeway. My little sister was in the car but i was taking her home from school and the law says I am able to do that because no one else could get her. What do you think will happen??
The speed limit is 65 mph. I was going between 10-15 mph over. I have heard that for a one point speeding ticket I will go to traffic school and pay a fine. If i get another point then it’s a suspension.

I received a speeding ticket today for going 47 in a 25. However, I do not feel that I was going that fast. When the officer came to my window he stated that he was "pacing" me and came to the conclusion that I was at 47.
Now, how can it be PROVEN that I was going 47? I could see with radar there is a number and everything but "pacing"? its almost as if he just picked a number.
Should I appeal in court? If I do, is it free? Do I still have to pay my ticket and then get refunded? How does the process work?
Forgot to add, on the ticket where it says RADAR ID#, he just wrote the word "pace"
I know what pacing is…but who is to say that isnt what he did? its my word against his and in this case he doesnt have radar backing him up

So tomorrow I’m about to fight my speeding ticket that I had gotten about a year and a half ago. I was driving in my mom’s Mercedes, coming back from prom at around 1:30 and I was in the fast lane. At this point I was going with the flow of traffic. My exit is coming up so I begin to change lanes. I come up to the side of a semi truck and do what my driving instructor had taught me long ago: speed up a little when passing trucks because of their large blind spots. Now, I usually drive a pretty slow car, but tonight was not the case. So, I got a little carried away after passing the truck and maintained that speed (At this point I was out in the open and there were no other cars around me to judge my speed by). It is at this point that I got pulled over for going over 100. I was in disbelief that I had gone that fast. Should I plead guilty and state these facts and hope for a lowered fine or plead innocent somehow?

I had my car on cruise control. I saw that it said 75. I always go that speed in this particular area of southern california, otherwise you’ll get run over. So the officer wouldn’t hear of it. He said I was doing 83. There’s no way. My uncle suggests that I go to my car dealership and verify the cruise control is working fine. Once that’s verified get it in a letter form and send it along with a written declaration to the court.
I called the traffic clerk’s office. She didn’t seem very helpful at all. She said, "well they may not even look at your letter, but you can try."
I still want to plead that I’m innocent of going 83. But I’m guilty of going 75 for sure. I’ll gladly pay that fine. Court date is December 22. I will be long gone from here by then. I’m moving in December back East with my wife. So it seems written declaration is my only option.
Ticket cost? 6.00 The state is cracking down hard and ticket prices range 6.00 on the average and up. Gone are the days of 0.00 tickets here. I would also like to appear in court because the judge usually lowers the fine. This is horrible and I don’t know what to do! I requested an earlier court date and they don’t have one. I’m very scared!
I had the speedometer set at 75 because the speed limit was 75 for awhile. We were on a long trip back. It had just dropped. I’m not denying I broke the law here people. All I’m saying is I was going 75 not 83. We already had it checked this year. Anyway, please stop saying things like be an adult. That just angers me and sounds like you’re looking to make conflict.
