Georgia Speeding Ticket Archives

I was speeding a little in this town called Kingsland GA where ever that is while on I95 lost the website address and its not on the ticket can anyone help?

I was issued a citation for going 89 MPH in a 55 MPH zone several months ago. My arraignment date is tomorrow, and I will be pleading guilty. I admit that I made a very stupid mistake, and I have learned my lesson about speeding – I have been making a concerted effort since then to be much safer on the roads. I have one prior moving violation in the past 3 years for an accident I was in last year, and two speeding ticket violations in the 3 years before that (both in the 15 MPH range).

I know that a jail sentence of up to 12 months is possible in Georgia for speeding. However, how likely are jail sentences issued for speeding cases such as this? Is this something I should have a serious concern about?

Ok I got a ticket in 2006. I paid the fine & had my license reinstated. I got a letter saying I have to pay 0 & appear in court October this year. I’m in georgia.

in june of this year i got a speeding ticket in monroe county ga in one of their famous speed traps. at the time i was living in alabama and had a alabama driver’s liscence. since then i have moved to georgia and i now have a georgia drivers liscence. the old alabama liscence was detsroyed by the georgia dmv. if i do not pay the ticket which is against my old alabama driver’s liscence will they suspend my new georgia driver’s liscence?

I live In Kentucky right now and I had my Georgia license until it got suspended. It got suspended when i got another traffic ticket here in Kentucky. My question is, I got a Speeding ticket a few months ago, but i forgot to pay it. Do i have to go all the way down to Georgia to pay the ticket or is there another way to pay it like online or something? Also, How to I apply for a Kentucky drivers License even though my Georgia license is suspended? Last, If i do have to go down to Georgia, where do i go to pay the ticket? is there a website?

Traveling in the state of georgia i go a speeding ticket running my boat. How do i pay this citation on line?

I got a speeding ticket on I-16E in Treuthlen county, Soperton, Georgia. According to the cop he clocked me doing 96 mph on 70 m speed limit. I called the county court and they told me that my ticket is for 5!!!

I am thinking of fighting the case as I don’t think I was doing 96 mph. I’ve few questions:
1. Can someone share their experience with traffic lawyer?
2. If I hire a lawyer do I need to go to court?
3. Does anyone have any recommendation about traffic lawyer in that part of state?

Thanks,
SA

Okay. I live in Miss. I had one sister to visit from Georgia got a speeding ticket. Says she was going 76 in a 55 zone but she wasnt. She also asked the trooper to see where he clocked it in but he said he didnt. She brought proof such a a newspaper stating it was foggy that night and had her husband and son with her but judge didnt review it and took state trooper side. Then I had another sister that came from North Carolina got a ticket in the same spot and her ticket said she was going 76 in a 55 zone. She knew it was untrue because I car starts to shake when it goes over 70. Then the car that was following her (her co-worker that came too) pull over waiting and the trooper ask was he with her and he said yes so the trooper gave him a ticket too! How do you feel about this situation.

I got a ticket earlier this year and lost the copy the officer gave me. I need to know what OFFICIAL site to go to to find my info so I can pay the ticked off. I have a clean record and do want any blemishes on it just because I missed my deadline. And also don’t want a warrant. any advice would be much appreciated.

I live in Georgia. Also how many points does it remove?

I got a speeding ticket in Georgia for 71 in a 45 (26 over the limit) which is considered reckless driving under the Georgia vehicle code 40-13-6. Reckless driving requires me to show up in court rather than just mail in a payment. I called the court and they said it would be 7 minimum which has to be payed on the court date. I have the minimum and I know it will be more obviously, What if the full amount of the speeding ticket cannot be payed on the court date? surely there is some period of time to pay it or something. I’m 17 years old if it matters.

I am supposed to be good for 6 months or DMV will suspend my license :( Please help!

Is that an option that the traffic court judges give you?

I recently got a speeding ticket for going 49 in a 25 zone (I thought it was a 35)

On a side note does anyone know how many months of suspension 4 points on your license will get you (considering I’m under 21)

thanks in advance!

i just got a speeding ticket in Georgia and the State patrol officer didn’t ask me if i wanted him to calibrate his radar or if i wanted to verify the speed that he stated i was traveling in any way. He didn’t even tell me why he had pulled me over he just got my information and came back with a ticket and said i was traveling 90 in a 70 mph zone. Can I fight this since the cop didn’t ask if i wanted to verify my speed in any way? also where can I find a law that states whether it is contestable or not. any help is greatly appreciated.

Okay, so I was going about 18 over and the cop pulls be over and says he clocked me going 30 over, but I told him there was no way that was possible. he then came back and gave me a ticket for 25 over.

I’m 18 years old, and have a class C license.

I went to my arraignment, and told them to move my case to the state. my hearing was in September, and i’d have class, so then i couldn’t go to my hearing because of class. I called the state solicitor, and i tried negotiating with him, to just take a defensive driving course and accept the ticket. he told me that since I was under 21, and had gotten a 4 point violation, that my license would get suspended for 6 months! He then went on to say he wasn’t 100% sure about this though, and that I have a chance that maybe my license won’t have to be suspended, but he still thinks it probably will be.

I know lots of friends who’ve gotten these sort of citations, but they just accepted the tickets at the arraignments and took the defensive driving courses and didn’t have their licenses suspended. I’ll probably have to attend my trial now, but that’s okay.

Can anyone tell me the truth about the whole defensive driving course deal and if there’s any other way I won’t have to have my license be suspended? at this point i’m desperate and don’t mind taking the points or the fines, I just need to be able to drive.

*I realize you aren’t a lawyer, and I won’t take your advice as if it were from a professional. This is yahoo answers for god’s sake.

I Got a speeding ticket in Georgia going 72 in a 45 = 27 over the limit. My court date is in like 2 weeks, I have already attended a State defensive driving course. This was my first driving offense I’m scared to death of getting my license suspended.

I’m a full time commuter college student and I drive a significant distance to work. I understand how wrong and dangerous speeding was. I’m not posting this question so that someone can tell me I deserve to have my license suspended. I understand that by law my license will be suspended when I go to court.

I’m looking for any suggestions on how I can possibly save my license from being suspended.

Again I’m looking for help, not condemnation, I already feel horrible anyway.
P.S. I cannot afford a lawyer

hey I just received a speeding ticket in georgia. I was going exactly 24 miles over the speed limit and Im under 21. Will my license get suspended or is it a chance i will only have to pay a fine. I have no other records against me

I had a sppeding ticket going 21 mph over and I live in the state of Georgia. I have a 1994 when the ticket says 2007.

I got a speeding ticket in Atlanta about a month ago. I called the automated number on the back of the ticket and it said that my ticket is not on record. I called again to speak to a person and they told me to check back later because it wasn’t on record. Do police officers sometimes not submit tickets they have handed out? And if so will the ticket not go on my record? Thanks

My husband and I recently moved to Atlanta, Georgia from out of state (California). Will any violations or accidents that either of got when we lived in California transfer to our Georgia driving records?

i need to know what to do in order to get a georgia license and do i have to go to class or anything

Need an idea of what I’ll have to pay Doesn’t have to be exact but there’s a difference between 0 and 0.

-Was 30MPH over.
-In Georgia.
-Second ticket in over a year.
-No points on license yet. (until this one, I’m guessing)

Can the sentence be jail? What if it was on a road with almost no traffic? And it was a low speed back road not a highway.
