i was doing 88kms’ in a 60km zone,

i wasnt pulled over as i was caught on camera,

how long do i have to wait before they send out the notice in the mail?
no i was caught on the speedning camera and wasnt pulled over.

i mean the notice telling you how many points ive lost and what speed i was doing etc etc and the amount i need to pay….

Im a minor and i recently got a citation for speeding. whats gonna happen? like any fines/jail(lol)/drivers school/license suspension?
ohh and it said i had to appear in court. the officer said it wasnt a ticket too
and the officer also said it wont be on my record or be on my insurance. im 17. and its my first offense.

I recently got a speeding fine for doing 35mph in a 30 zone. It must have been a camera as no-one stopped me at the time. Is there any way I can get out of this – I have heard you can ask them for calibration records to prove the camera is calibrated properly, and they tend not to bother? Any help? Thanks x

I was traveling to Baton Rouge and recieved a speeding ticket on Atachafalaya Bridge. I heard that speeding tickets on that bridge were for every mile over the speed limit. How much are thye actual fines?

my question is this, why is there fines for speeding, when you speed and get caught you loose points then on top of that you are forced to pay money to the government and the person that is forcing you is wearing a gun.( not to much of a stretch from strong arm robbery) . now i have been told that it is to fund the police however in every state that i checked into , every police station is funded from that state and that state is funded by the federal government, with crime on the rise i find it funny that i see more cops giving tickets for something stupid like a headlight that is not working and oh by the way in the great state of florida under s.s 316.610(b) you will be forced to pay the local government 74.50 dollars first offence.it just seems to me it is another way for the amreican people to be fleeced

I got a speeding ticket on the Turnpike in Florida for going 94 in a 70. My ticket was 6, but I am 17 and I don’t have that kind of money right now. Do you think that by going to court I could get the fine reduced? If not can I at least get the payments prolonged or make a payment plan?

I can’t find any fine on it. It just asks me to mail guilty or not guilty. I don’t know what to do it’s my first one ever and I don’t want my parents to know.

I am from RI and just received a speeding ticket for driving 75MPH in a 55MPH zone on the NE Thruway (I-95). The ticket did not indicate how much it would cost and of course it doesn’t say how many points you would get for the offense.

I received a speeding fine with the officer telling me that the speed was recorded from an aircraft.

The officer only asked for my license and not my registration.
On the ticket it says I drive an 1988 Chev (Blue) Pickup Truck.
I drive a 1994 Ford (White) Pickup Truck.
The Vehicle License Number is also wrong on the ticket.

I signed the citation just to avoid any further problems to only read about this when I got home.

Please let me know if you think I have a case.

When people are fined, whether for speeding, perjury, assault, or any other criminal offense, where does that money go?

Do states get the money from crimes against state laws, federal gets federal, etc.? And is that money used like tax dollars?

Aside from the obvious solutions governments take such as speeding cameras, speed humps and fines, what else is there that I can talk about? I want something interesting so that I can get my teacher’s attention and hopefully get a few extra marks.

1.Will a police officer fine you even more if you got caught speeding and you had a radar detector? I don’t have a radar detector yet.

2.What will they put down for the extra add-on? I guess it would be in procession of a radar detector.

I just read this article this morning and I didn’t even know such laws existed. I was able to see that NY, NJ, MI, VA and TX have these policies. Does anyone know where I might find a complete list of states that use this type of policy? Also, I’d like to hear everyone else’s opinion on this topic. It seems that I might have given the impression that I feel I mightbe in danger of these fees and I’m not. I just travel a lot up the East Coast and I personally had never heard of these laws before. So I guess in the sense for people that are from out of state form where these fines are they are hidden as I don’t believe there is anything stated directly on the ticket you are handed.

Why doesn’t the government just ask the car makers to make cars that do not go beyong the maximum speed limit and then get rid of all the speed cameras? Or is the government actually funding car makers to make faster cars and trebble the speed cameras? any one fro the Traffic department?

Its is over a speeding offence. Can you offer any advice on a statement i can give the court in order to reduce or even eliminate any penalty.

My court date is May 11 can I go to court before that and pay the fine off? Do I have to see the judge or is it just pay at the window? And I probably would have to do a driving defensive course, can I do it before the court date and submit it on the4 day of the court date? (more likely I know the judge would probably tell me to do a driving defensive course)
