If I fight this speeding ticket in court will I win?

I received a speeding ticket earlier for (allegedly) going 93 in a 70.

I was in the middle of a group of cars that were all speeding, I was not in the front of either lane. The officer was positioned ahead of the group of cars.

My argument was it was not me that the radar hit and could not have been since I was behind other cars. Since the officer was positioned in front of the group, the radar would have had to gone through the cars in the front (that were obviously going faster than the rest of us) to even hit my car, and then he would have known it was my car specifically, all of which is impossible.

The officer pulled out after the group of cars passed and weaved through the group and pulled me over, even though there were clearly cars ahead of me.

Think I have a shot in court of claiming that I was not going that fast and that it was impossible for the radar to hit me based on where he was positioned?

can anyone help me beat a speeding ticket in court?

I live in austin tx. Here is the situation. Today I got a speeding ticket. He said he clocked me at 55 in a 35 and a minivan between me and him at 52 so he stopped me. he was hidden up in a culdesac facing the road. my argument was that even if i was going faster than 35 it wasnt 55. also on the ticket it is checked that he used radar. my dectector which is very useful never beeped once. in texas you can buy but i dont think you can use em. could i take it into court and say he never clocked me and give it to over to them? lol really though. And also how is it possible to clock two cars that quickly? the radar should reset or something. and the van was ahead of me a little. head to butt. i recently beat 2 tickets cause one mispelled my name the other put a wrong number on my license. not this guy. the only thing was in box violation 1 he has 55 in 35. in box alleged speed he has 45. can i use this at all? any advice would help.&there was a car between us@a red light b4 the stop.

Speeding Ticket/Court Appearance?

Ok, just looking for someone who knows the system to tell me what to expect. I was going 33mph over the speed limit in a highway, no one around, broad daylight, clear condition, and just wasn't paying all that much attention. I know it was wrong, and I don't doubt the police that I was speeding. This is my very first ticket/traffic violation of any sort. Nothing prior, zip zilch nada. I have to appear in court in a little under a month from now, so I was curious what I should expect. Bring another friend with a driver license in case they take mine? Traffic school? How about Online Traffic School? Any info would be helpful, especially the fine/punishment. I am active duty military, if that makes any difference (though I doubt it)

When getting a speeding ticket who is the prosecutor in court?

I was told from my previous yahoo question to go to court early and talk to a prosecutor about making a plea bargain to get my fine reduced. Does anyone know who the prosecutor is? Is that person the cop or what?

How is it like going to court for speeding ticket?

I live in chicago and last month I drove into someone's car, no serious body injuries. I drove faster than I could react so that's why I got a speeding ticket. now I'm going to court day after tomorrow. I admit or plea guilty but how does this process work? This is my first time so I'd like to know any tips you have. Will there be a court full of people just watching you? or is it just a small room with only a judge to see your case? I hope it's the latter.

Thank you.

Good tips for getting out of a speeding ticket in court?

Hey everyone! I got a speeding ticket a couple months ago for going 60 in a 35 MPH zone. I simply wasn't paying attention to the changing speed limits and was pulled over. The officer was kind enough to mark the ticket down to 5 over, but the points will still be added on to my license, which I CAN'T afford to let happen. I've chosen to fight the ticket in court because there is no option for traffic school because of my existing tickets. I have literally no evidence to support my innocence, mostly because I'm not innocent; but does anyone have any good advice on how to fight this in court? I need some good questions to ask to help further my pursuit of keeping my license. Thanks!
Also, this ticket is a county citation that was issued in a rural mountain area. I don't normally speed THAT much.
Thanks for all of your tips, the only reason I'm fighting this is because my job depends on having a drivers license. It looks like my best option is going to be the "Dress nice and beg for mercy" approach. That, or just hope the officer doesn't show up! Ha ha.

How To Defend a Speeding Ticket in Court?

I'm 17 years old and recently received a ticket for going 23 mph over the speed limit on a freeway. I was quiet and polite to the officer, he gave me the ticket and took my license. I admit to speeding but i do not believe to be going 23 mph over. I intend to plea guilty but i want to address the circumstances for a possible reduction. What does it look like in court, what are the steps of the prosecution, any advice that i should be aware of?

I should also note that this was a state police officer. Are the chances of him showing up high?

And another thing, He caught me while i was behind him. I was about half a 1/4 mile behind him when he began to pursue me. Can i fight this or is it likely that i was pinpointed by a spotter?
What's the worst penalty i could receive? Considering my age and all could they suspend my license?

What to do in court for a speeding ticket.?

I got a speeding ticket for doing 52 in a 40, I have never gotten a ticket, or done anything criminal. Will they ask me to plea guilty or not guilty? Can I just ask to go to traffic school? I don't want points on my license because of the cost of insurance going up.

I got a speeding ticket and was wondering about court supervision?

It is a mandatory court appearance, so should i plead not guilty and see if the prosecutor will over this or a plea bargain? Or should I plead guilty and see if i can get court supervision.
I am 20 yrs old this is my first ticket it was 84 in a 50 in New Jersey with no cars around I just wasn't paying attention to the speedometer.

How to argue this speeding ticket in court?

I was approaching a school zone going the speed limit (50 km/hr), then entered the school zone going 30 km/hr (the speed limit). I was in a group of vehicles all going faster than myself, and was pulled over where I got a ticket for speeding in the school zone. I asked to see the radar and it said I was going 55 km/hr at 111 meters away. The sign for the school zone was 120 meters away meaning i would have been 9 meters inside of it. The humidity was 100%, it was raining quite hard, the wind was at 41 km/hr, and the air pressure was 102 kPa.
I do not believe it was even my vehicle that was clocked and so I would like to build a strong case for when I appear in court. Concrete suggestions for how to argue the ticket will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Going to court for a speeding ticket?

I'm going to court soon for a speeding ticket. I didn't have to go but I always heard if you at least go to court more often then not they'll lower the fine or points, etc...

My question is what do I need to say / do to get a reduced charge? Or will the judge just assume that I'm there to get it reduced and offer something? Just never done this before Thanks.

Traffic Court and Speeding Ticket?

I have a court date set for a traffic ticket that was from more than a year and half ago. It says I was speeding, like 77 in a 70 mph, on a major highway here in DFW (Arlington). I do not remember, in that it was so long ago, but I remember the ticket and that I was very polite and quiet to the police officer. What should I say (or NOT say!) when I appear in court? What should I prepare with? I have not had a ticket since 2005 (Oct), and that was dismissed. I have a clean history, but I live on the other side of the metroplex, so I have to take off a half-day of work. Will I be asked if I want a speedy trial? Any advise from previous law inforcement professionals is greatly appreciated! I do not want to pay, since I do not feel I was speeding. Thanks!

what will i expect in court? (speeding ticket)?

Today I was on my way to a mall with my friend and I got pulled over for going 34 miles over the speed limit. 89 in a 55. When the officer came to my window he told me I was going to get my license suspended for 90 days. Then he went back in his car wrote me up a ticket and came back and said, well since your "not bawling your eyes out" I want you to plead not guilty and you might not lose your license. I'm a minor (17) and live in pa. I'm going to plead not guilty, but i don't know what to say? I really don't want to get my license suspended what should I expect in court?

I'm paying a 0 fine too btw.

can I argue a speeding ticket in court due to no speed limit posted on the road?

I was stopped for doing 38 in a 25mph zone. The Officer asked if I was aware I was speeding and I replied 'no, I didn't see any speed limit signs'. Although polite, he was obviously angry and lectured me about the many stop and speed limit signs posted on the road, and threatened to ticket me for not paying attention. After receiving the speeding ticket, pulling over and calming down, I backtracked and found no stop sign or speeding sign on my side of the road, from the road's beginning, to one mile further north of where I had pulled onto the road. What are my chances in court?

I got a speeding ticket and court hasnt contacted me yet…what should i do?

I got a speeding ticket for doing 71 in a 50 and I'm only 17 therefore i should have to go to court for my ticket. I got the ticket in Franklin County. And they sent me something in the mail stating that they were transfering it to Pickaway County which is where I live. Should i contact them or let it go??? Will the court contact me eventually??? and i got the ticket on March 20, 2009. So what should i do?
And I'm pretty sure I'm not an idiot because I can read. And it clearly says on the ticket "Court date to be set" so your the idiot for runnin your mouth.

Do you always have to pay the court cost for a speeding ticket?

From what the citation says, if I prepay the court fee and fine, I plead guilty and therefore do not have to show up in court.

But if you don't have to go to court, why would you have to pay a "court" fee?

A court fee almost 10 times the amount of the fine seems ridiculous.

I got a speeding ticket and my court date is tomorrow but i dont have the full funds what can i do?

I just started my job and the ticket is 200 well i didnt get the full amount because it was held back 2 weeks will they take an arrangement or am i going to jail? what should i wear? i have to be there at 1:30 should i go early what time?

Can i avoid court fee on speeding ticket?

I live in NC and got a 73/60 speed ticket in VA. I'm ok to pay fine of but they are asking additional as court fee. I'm not going to court and willing to pay before court date, do i still need to pay court charges?

Can you ask for a continuation for a speeding ticket court date the day of?

I mistakenly read my court date for 10 days after it actually was so I'm in bad shape now that I read it is tomorrow.

The court is closed today and my court date is tomorrow 30 minutes after the court opens, but the court is located 4.5 hours from where I live. Could I call tomorrow when they open and ask for a continuation so that I can do my online traffic school? Or at worst call when they open and pay by phone?
Locksmith, I haven't been carrying it around bragging and had no intention of fighting it. I'm a student and have been very busy with exams, and it simply slipped my mind. I know it was stupid, but I'm looking for someone to answer my question not tell me that, thank you.
