Speeding Ticket Fines Archives

I got a speeding ticket for going 13 over in Englewood, Colorado today. It’s a 4 point ticket and I’m not sure what the fine is. I was wondering if anybody could tell me what my fine might be? Also, I’m 17 and have had my license for almost two years and this is my first ticket or violation of any kind, so what are the chances I can get this reduced? If it does get reduced, what can it go down to?

Thanks for the help

In August, I got a 0 speeding ticket and I felt it was unfairly issued, so I requested an appeal. On November 13th, I was notified by mail that my requested had been scheduled for December 11th. Long story short, I have a prior commitment on this day that is worth far more than 0 and I want to just go ahead and pay the ticket. I live in Massachusetts.

How do I go about doing this at this stage? Will I be fined for changing my mind?

I have heard that two thirds of all speeding tickets are dismissed if you go to court because the police officers often do not show up. Do you think I should try this? Also, what happens if the police officer DOES show up? Will I be expected to pay the fine immediately?

Hi,

I got a speeding ticket today for driving 85 mph in a 65 mph highway, the officer gave me a fine of almost 0, according to law I should not get a ticket of over 0, but I did. What are my chances to get the case dismissed?

I was given a speeding ticket for speeding in a 35 mph zone, when in fact, it was a 40 mph zone. Technically, I was still speeding, but there is a 5 mph difference in the fine and points on my license. I’m not arguing with the fact that I was speeding, just that the punishment is wrong, so I’m not really trying to get out of this. I just want the proper consequences. Would a magistrate throw the case out, or simply reduce the fine?

He was really nice about it…If he doesnt show, will the charges be dropped?? Should I plead not guilty all the way even after talking to the prosecutor??
Does anyone know how many points and the cost of the fine is??
Thanks!!
Oh he wrote on there i was doing 46/35…how can he prove this?? What are my chances on winning??

traffic school fee? I want to fight it, but I’m leaving the country for 6 months in 8 days. since i can get it off my record w/ traffic school, i just want to reduce my fee in any way. is the best way to go to court, plead guilty and ask to reduce the fine or traffic school fee (it’s my first ticket, and i’m a college student…i hear judges are more lenient on students..?)?

or if i do decide to fight it, would i be able to extend everything due to my going out of the country? or do i have to go to traffic school within a time limit of my ticket?
*can’t go to traffic school online (orange county).
*don’t have a real argument to fight ticket (maybe except the cop wrote my license plate wrong). i just want to take chances with written declaration and appearing in court in the case that the cop doesn’t respond to one in written form or doesn’t appear in court).
*i’m an undergrad student, so no one to really ask about the situation.

please don’t tell me to just pay for it and go to traffic school. i’m asking if i can reduce the fee in any way possible…by asking the judge or anything.
what does it mean to get the date advanced??

So I just got this speeding ticket from the Metropolitan Police in Washington DC that shows a picture of the rental car I had right after I picked up the car. So I don’t deny it but I was just wondering if I really have to pay this. I was going 43mph in a 30mph zone and the fine is .

I just found out that demerit points on my license that I got from a speeding ticket in Quebec are not valid in Vermont because Quebec and Vermont don’t have a reciprocal agreement. I want to know if I have to pay the fine and if I don’t will I get into trouble when I go back to Quebec on the border station?

i live in sacramento, california and i just got a speeding ticket this morning on my way to school. im a college student and my financial situation isn’t doing very well so i want to do anything i can to lessen my expenses. i know ill have to pay the ticket fine because i was clearly speeding (61 in a 45), but i already did traffic school last year so im not eligible anymore and my insurance rates will most likely sky rocket.. this is what kills me. i hear people can go to court and beg for community service to keep the POINTS OFF INSURANCE records; is this possible? and in my situation is it likely that i will be granted the opportunity? and if so WHEN do i request for it, during the INITIAL PLEA or during the TRIAL itself where the police officer is present? i know this is a lot of questions, but this is a very serious problem for me so i would like sincere and experienced people to answer my questions please. thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
i can pay the fine pretty much no problem, but the insurance rates are whats going to kill me. i need some way out of getting those points on my record to keep my insurance rates the same.

I was turning right on a red light and did not yeild properly so the camera flashed me, and on the speeding ticket I was doing 89 in a 45. I cant afford to pay the 00 fines. Is there anything I can do to better my situation without paying the fine. Its been suspended for over a year.

How long does it usually take? I got pulled over nearly 3 weeks ago and have been waiting for the fine to come so I can pay it off.

If it helps at all, I’m in the Bay Area, CA. I was pulled over on the 8th of May and received a speeding ticket for doing 89 on the freeway.

I had gotten a speeding ticket when workers were not present in a construction zone. I had went 20 miles over the posted the speed. I did not have my proof of insurance and registration with me. Do charges also double for not having proof of insurance and registration? Also I am wondering how much the ticket will cost. I got my ticket in California.

I got my first ever speeding ticket and have no idea what to do. I got it for going 77mph in a 60mph highway. so the ticket the cop gave has the amount of fine i have to pay and under that it says need to appear in court before this date. So do i just pay the fine and leave it at that or do i have to go to court?

I was caught speeding at 75mph on 65mph limit on my motorcycle. The ticket amount says 0. I’m a student and can’t afford that fine and wondering if I can request someone to reduce that fine. This is my first ever traffic ticket though.
I don’t wanna fight that ticket (I know I wasn’t going less than 65mph) but I want to appear in court without jeopardizing the traffic school option. Only and only to reduce that fine. If I pay online then I had to pay the entire amount and (I heard) if I appear in court then judge might not allow me to attend traffic school (if found guilty).
Do you think I should take my chance by selecting “Appear in court” option?
I got the ticket near Crompton, CA. I was going on highway 91.

I have a friend who got a speeding ticket over a year ago and thought her uncle paid it, but it never got paid. The fine is only 0, but she is terrified that if she even calls to get the address to send the money and how much is exactly due, they will track her down to arrest her. She knows for sure that’s it’s a bad situation already because her aunts a cop and checked her name privately and said there is a "warrant block". I don’t even know what that is. Any correct advise on what to do would be appreciated so I can help her calm down. Thanks!!
I forgot to mention that they didn’t give her a court date, they just wanted her to pay it. so it’s not like she didn’t appear in court.

First of all, please only answer if you have experience with this.

Ticket: Infraction
Correctable violation: No
Code & Section: 22348(b)vc – speed over 100+ MPH (reckless, verbal)
Speed Approx: 103
Max Spd: 65

I really can’t deny it, I was speeding. The officer told me I could possibly lose my license temporarily, and I know that obviously I’ll have to pay a fine. What are the chances of losing my license, has anyone got a similar ticket? How do I go to traffic school? How many points is 100+MPH speeding ticket? What’s the ticket fine for 100+MPH?
This was at 2AM by the way. The cop said "do you know how many people are out with their kids, and how many lives you endangered?" I just nodded thinking to myself "0."
I didn’t argue with the cop, is that what verbal means?

I got a traffic ticket in Ventura County (near Los Angeles) for speeding at 80 in a 66mph zone. I did not have my registration and inurance proof as well. However, I was SHOCKED to see the fine amount on my ticket..5! Is this realistic?? What are my options for this ticket?
Thanks for all those who answered. It turned out that the registration/insurance offense was correctable and the fine was waived, taking the total fine down to 0, which is not bad at all!

i live in miami florida i was going 50 not 60 the officer said if i go to traffic school i do not have to pay is this true?
on the ticket it says i dont have to appear in court
i dont have money for a lawyer

I have a perfect driving record as of now but got a ticket recently that I am taking to court, need advice on how to beat this ticket and not give the state my hard earned money.
I was on my way to a root canal appt. and have a letter from my Dentist stating so. Also it’s up to the state to prove me guilty not up to me to prove I’m not. I asked for how to beat it not a moral judgement. I also stated I have a perfect record so therefore I am not a criminal.
like i said spanner i’m not looking for judgement or your personal opioion i am looking for how to beat the ticket from people who are smart enoght to beat the system. i also don’t care what you think, i know i’m not a criminal that’s why it’s called a vialation and not a misdeameanor crime.
Went to court today and beat the ticket, placed on file due to my clean record and no fine. Hurray!

I got my first speeding ticket for going 14mph over. When I show up to my court date, what is my best course of action? I have a clean driving record. If I want to try and get it reduced to a lesser fine (like a parking ticket) do I plead guilty or not guilty?

(New York State)

It just says "to be notified"
I’m under 18, so will they send something to my house just to make sure my parents know, or what?

the violation occured at the hoover dam (arizona side). the speed limit was 15 and i was going with the flow of traffic (35mph). i happened to be last in the string of vehicles so i was pulled over.
