Speeding Ticket Insurance Archives

If I got a speeding ticket in Vermont and I live in Mass will my insurance be notified and will I be assessed the surcharge? It was an estimate by the cop and I plan on fighting it but I’m curious if this will be sent to my Mass insurance company.
What are the chances if I apeal the ticket that I win? There is no indication on the ticket of whether the speed was radar or estimated. 40mph in a 25mph zone is the infraction.

I have been caught by the police for running a red light. When he asked me for my insurance papers i told him i didnt have any. Will my insurance company find out? Will my insurance raise ? I currently use State Farm and this is my first violation ticket. Age 18. Is there a lea way since this is my first time getting a violation ticket.

I just turned 18 and I am a senior in high school. I live in a small area that is just between two towns. This area is known for its police; they have a tendency to give speeding tickets out like crazy. They hide in places so that they can catch people speeding; the area is generally a 30mph zone. I had a good morning and got a little foot-happy…I sped right up to a cop that hides next to my neighborhood. Needless to say, I was going 50 mph in a 30 mph zone. Without a seat belt. I was extremely honest, so I got a speeding ticket but the seat belt issue was simply a warning. This is my first ticket ever; the only other time I had been pulled over was because I forgot to turn on my headlights…I was 16 at the time.

I have State Farm Insurance and have an extremely decent rate for my age. I have no issues paying the speeding ticket because I did speed…I just don’t want my insurance to be crushed. I went through driver’s education, State Farm’s Steer Clear Program, and I have maintained my grades to ensure that I get a decent rate.

What will this ticket do to my rate? And what is the best I can make out of this situation?
And the headlights violation was simply a warning.
I live in Arkansas, by the way.

I am under my Dad’s insurance and I just received my first (and hopefully last) speeding ticket. Will this ticket raise the monthly insurance rate? Will the insurance company (State Farm) even hear of this ticket?

Thanks,
Reece
I was going 23 MPH over the speed limit (53 in a 30 MPH zone). I don’t see a mandatory court date. He just gave me a the ticket and green envelope for the fine I have to pay. He suggested going to the 2 hour driving class or what not to wipe it off my record.

Actually I got a speeding ticket and a proof of no insurance but I do have insurance. I know I need to show proof but other than mailing it how can I? I paid the ticket today and tomorrow is the due date for proof of no insurance please help.

I just got my first speeding ticket yesterday… Going 48 on a 35 speed limit. My question is, will that raise my insurance rate at all? I use State Farm and live in Minnesota. Car is insured under my dad’s name and I’m 20. Also, I’ve had two other tickets before: the first one was for not moving away from emergency vehicle (I was driving on the lane next to two cops while they were pulling someone over) and the second one was a moving violation ("swerving" too much due to my poor vision).
The first one was three years ago.. The moving violation and speeding was this year. But I’ve heard someone told me that the first two won’t go on my record because they were ‘minor’ violations?

I was told my insurence went up because of speeding ticket but i never received any speeding ticket and was never stopped. Is it possible. Thanks

Okay, I got a speeding ticket for going 80mph in a 65mph (I slipped up!) and this is the first time I have ever even been stopped.
The problem is that this ticket is in a county three hours from my house and I’m trying to decide whether I should just pay it or go to court, but I have mixed reviews on the Insurance points that I will get (which is what I’m worried about) because I don’t want my insurance to go up too much. If its one point, it goes up 25%, but if its 2, then I’ll probably go to court because it will be between 40% and 50%.
I was going 15mph over, so how many insurance points am I looking at if I plead guilty and just pay it? Is it 1 or 2?
I think its actually 2 or 3 points. 3 says in some place "speeding over 55mph". Does this mean speeding in excess of 55 mph (ex.doing 80 in a 35) or does it mean speeding on the highway? Because some of the attorneys that you can hire say "speeding in excess of 55 mph" so I’m really confused.
I’m not trying to fight it, I’m trying to figure out whether I can negotiate for less points. I need to know how many points I would get if I don’t do anything.

I’m a 17 girl who got a speeding ticket for the first time for going 53 in a 40 mph zone at night on a pretty empty street. I live in california and I am planning on going to traffic school to erase the point from my record. Does anybody know how much my ticket will be and if my insurance will go up ( I am on my parents insurance). I heard that if you do traffic school your insurance won’t go up, is this true?

I just got a pretty bad speeding ticket. 90 in a 70 and that was even after the cop bumped it down a little bit for me. I paid the 350 dollars for the ticket already so that is all behind me now. I was wondering if a speeding ticket of 20 over would jack my insurance up at all? Anybody know? Thanks.

-Also my wife just got in a crash that was her fault a few days ago. For some reason we have to pay the first 500 dollars of repairs before our insurance covers the rest. Why is that? I thought that the insurance would cover everything.

Thanks.

i got one going 80 in a 55. dont get all high and mighty on me. i was being a dumbass and we know im paying for it now. also i live in MA and im 18 driving for less then a year

I will be convicted of speeding when i pay the bill….however, my Auto Insurance renewel is coming up….What is the best method to possibly keep my insurance premiums from going up…is it best to:

A) Pay the speeding ticket and get the conviction on my record BEFORE signing up with a DIFFERENT (New) auto Insurance Company?

OR

B) Joing a DIFFERENT (New) auto Insurance company and then pay the speeding ticket (which will show up then as a conviction on my record)?

Thank you.

I went on an out of town trip that my parents did not know about. Will the moving violation show up on the insurance, and will it say the city of the ticket?

I am 18 years old, live in Texas and Im under my moms insurance with Gieco.
I got a ticket for going 91 in a 70, will my rate go up?

Im under my moms insurance and the monthly use to be to 0, but now its 9! Is it because of my ticket? or is it because i been under my moms insurance since i was 16 years old and when i turned 18 they raised it?

i was getting away from someone tailgating me, horn blowing etc. for reasons still unsure and i was afraid if i pulled off the road, he would too, so i was in my corvette, i tapped my brakes, nothing and he gigged me so i pulled away and he turned off onto a side road and was i was clocked going 64 in a 45. if i go to traffic school will my insurance not go up much since its my first offense?

To clear it, I mean Montreal ,Canada, not California. Thanks!

Will my insurance go up if my speeding ticket is dropped to zero points?

Im planning on fighting my ticket, and if im lucky enough to get moved to a non-moving violation I know that there is no affect on your insurance, but I wanted to know if the ticket still shows up on the record as speeding and the judge only waives the points, will my insurance company still raise my rates??

Thanks

I’m thinking about getting a lawyer or should I just pay the ticket and hope it won’t get reported to my insurance company
Will the lawyer help lower the driving points or allow me to plead no contest if my driving record is clean?

Ausome that this is the persons second ticket and they cannot go to traffic school to erase the ticket

I got a speeding ticket going 88 in a 70 in GA. That’s 2 points on my license. I was wondering if a rumor that I heard was true. Some people were telling me that they give you your first 2 points for free i.e. wont raise your payments for just 2 points. Is this true? Do you have proof?
I have my state farm account in SC

I’ve gotten a speeding a few months ago going 20 mph over, but I took went to traffic school so it wouldn’t affect my insurance. Now a few weeks ago I got another ticket going 17 mph over. Will my insurance count this as two speeding tickets against my insurance now, or only the second one? Also, about how much should my insurance increase from this ticket? I am 18 years old, and this will be my first ticket that i got points on my license from.
It’s not that I speed all the time… The first time I was only going like 10 over and the cop was in an undercover SUV and started tailgating me. I sped up and switched lanes and he did the same, and finally turned on his lights.

The second time I was the only one on the road, and I just pulled out so I sped up really fast and slowed back down. The cop just happened to be pulling onto the road for the 10 seconds I was speeding.

Okay, so yestarday I was caught speeding in Alberta. This isn’t a common event for me, but it happens to the best of us. I have a perfect driving record of 3 years, a Driver’s education course, and this will be the first violation. I was doing 129 in a 100 zone on a back road.
I’m not looking for advice on how to fight the ticket. I want to know two things. Firstly: Will my insurance go up by any amount at all? Secondly, I want to join the RCMP someday. If I did decide to fight the ticket, would they know that and would it impact my chances? Thank ya all.

My insurance is not due for renewal for 11 months. Will any increase take place immediately or at the time of renewal?
