How To Beat A Speeding Ticket Avoiding, Contesting and Beating Speeding Tickets

3Dec/096

I live in FL, and just recieved my 1st speeding ticket, also i am totally confused on what happens..?

because the guy who gave it to me had pretty much no idea either, i asked is there something going to be mailed to my house about this since i do not want my parents to know and i asked how much is this traffic school, he didnt know either, it was like the blind leading the blind..anyways so i got pulled over for going 70 on a 55, and if i take the class it is 3 i do believe, but my question is, "does this go on my record even though i have taken the class and paid the fine?" i know there will be no points and will a copy and statement be sent to insurance? i know it will not raise the price of my insurance, but will they know?
btw i am not a minor
in addition, i think it is my right to know what is going to happen, it is AMERICA right? people have a voice, i am not saying i am not guilty for speeding, i would just like to know the consequenses and what should i be expecting. so is that so wrong ? just wanting to know what is about to happen in part 2 of my ticket ?

Higher gas prices,fewer Speeding tickets??????

Have the fuel prices had an effect on fewer speeding tickets??? I have spoken to quite a few people who say that not only have they slowed down to avoid speeding tickets...They are actually getting 50 more miles out of the gas tank

Is it true that if you plea guilty to a speeding ticket they will lower the price?

I got a traffic ticket for going 90 on a 65 and the ticket came out to be 0. If i plea guilty and apologize on my court date, will they lower the price and maybe even drop the charges?

how much will my speeding ticket in a construction area be?

oh yeah.. Im 21, male, and I live in Missouri, if that matters about the price.
Ok, so i was pulled over by a cop. He told me i was doing 65 in a 50, a construction area. And i didn't have my seat belt on so i have to pay for that. But i dont know about the ticket. 65 in a 50 - contruction area.

Ive never had a speeding ticket before. I did get pulled over about 4 years ago for going 73 in a 70, but just got a warning. Then almost 2 years ago, i got into a bad wreck in icy road conditions. The officer said she had to give me a ticket for driving in the wrong lane, for insurance purposes (so the other girl would get her car fixed). My car flew across the median going down like a 15 degree sloped road. it was all ice, so my pickup truck flew over the median and her car slammed into mine. Court went good and got no points on my license.

That was the only ticket i ever got. It was in february of 2008.

How much will this ticket be for doing 65 in a 50 in construction area, knowing my driving history that i just listed.

No, there wasn't any contruction workers present, in fact i didn't even see construction going on. He just told me that it was construction area. The highway seemed fine to me.

I cant call the number for 7 to 10 days, they have to process the information first.

I live in the midwest

I got a speeding ticket in Ontario. Which company is best? Pointts,Ticket Defenders,No Points Traffic,Others?

I'm not as concerned about the price (they seem to range from 0 - 0) as I am about the points. I was charged with doing 85 in a 50 zone, which is 4 points. Any experience/suggestions on which company is best? Are any of them ripoffs or just marketing scams? Thank you :)

Also, this is Ontario, Canada. Just to clarify.

Is there any way that I can get a second speeding ticket off of my record?

On my way to school this morning, I was running a bit late, so I was speeding. Of course, the one time I'm speeding, there is a cop.

I've had one before, and I did the defensive driving course and got it dismissed, but in my area, they only allow you to do that once every two years. It has not been two years...

My question is if there is any way that I can get this off of my record. I don't really care about the price so much, just so long as it's under the probable 00 that it will cost me in insurance rates. Is there a court process that I can go through and get it dismissed? I live in Baton Rouge, LA, so anything pertinent to your experiences may be helpful.

A couple more questions:

If it does go on my insurance, How much do you think it will cost? (I have USAA)
How many points will go on my license if I cannot get it dismissed? (Again, I live in Baton Rouge, LA, and have USAA)
How long will the points last on my record?
I was planning on getting a motorcycle within a year or so. Will this inhibit my chances of getting a good rate, or will it be done and gone by then?

Thanks for the help.

Brian.

P.S.: I know that I have to pay the ticket itself, as well as court fees. I saw on a similar post about a similar topic and he was flamed for appearing as if he was planning on not paying the fees and ticket.

How good are my chances to appeal a speeding ticket that has no price?

I know what your thinking, it has to be there but 4 other people have looked at it and we all found there is no price on my speeding ticket. I was going 83 mph in a 65 mph zone. I was passing someone who moments before had me stuck driving right next to a tractor trailer truck, which makes me incredibly nervous so I wanted to go around them. Now I plan to appeal and I'm up for any tips on how to make this thing disappear. The officer said he lessend it to 75 mph in a 65 mph zone but 83 is written on my ticket but so is 75+. Also he was using a radar however on my ticket he checked estimated. He also did not write down the price of the ticket or have me sign it. I'm doing lots of research and plan to use laws to get this appealed instead of just relying on a sob story. Also if it helps this ticket is in Massachusetts.
Common Sense : If I can't appeal the ticket why did the officer tell me I could and it says it on the back.

is a speeding citation the same as a ticket?

I got pulled over and given a citation for going 73 in a 60, is this going to cost me at all because there was no amount on the citation...any cops out there that can give me advice or let me know what is the price I am going to have to pay?

Ticket Price Help, Sounds Fishy?

Okay, so about a month ago, I received a ticket for not completely stopping at a stop sign while the weather was really bad. The officer gave me a ticket (my first ticket, I am 18) and said it was .00. Today, I had called the court (again) to check up on the ticket because I still had not received a courtesy announcement by email or mail. When I called, the lady told me that the ticket fee was 0.00 and if I wanted to go to traffic school it would cost 0.00.

My question is, is that, is that a normal price for that kind of ticket? And this was my first ticket so does that mean anything? I was talking to my mom and she said that my brother's ticket (for speeding) was not as much as this ticket.

Thank you for your help.

Radar Detector, which is the best in working condition with a good price?

I just got my first speeding ticket today doing 53 mph on a 35 mph zone. I had my radar detector on, but didn't catch the police shooting his laser gun. I have a ESCORT, is there a brand better than this that works good and catches cops around the area really well??

should i try and fight a speeding ticket?

When the cop pulled me over he said I was doing 30 in a 25 and asked for my license (no registration) which was odd. Then he comes back and says he would give me a warning but he's on a task force for school zones and has to give everyone he pulls over a ticket. I then look at the ticket and notice he wrote 38 in a 25. I tell him this really surprises me and I'm sure I wasn't going that fast and he says "well that's what it is". He said he did me a favor for not writing it was a school zone, but I know I was definitely not going 38. The ticket is 0, the deferral price is 1 or should I try my luck in court. I haven't had a ticket in 20 years. I just don't think its fair to say one thing a write another especially since I know I wasn't going 38mph. I have seen lots of info about going to court and asking about the records of calibration of the radar gun etc. The problem is i'm kind of nervous about speaking in court and I think I may mess it up because of nerves. I don't want to go to court and plead not guilty only to have to pay the fine plus court costs, I'm just not sure what to do??????????

Speeding ticket :(…help!!!!?

I was going over the speed limit by a great deal 107 :( , unfortunately now I am paying the price of my mistake. It requires a court appearance because of how fast I was going.

I've been seeking lawyers that may be willing to offer me advice for a fee as I can't afford the legal representation costs. In hopes of improving my chances in court, no lawyer yet has offered any services to give me a few words of advice.

I come here asking two questions: Is this lack of assistance the norm for law firms and so I should just quit trying? (Some sort of unwritten rule or something?)

Is there any advice someone can give me that can help me better prepare myself for the court date? I would be greatly appreciative.

I really just wish to explain to the judge that I did do something wrong and that I have learned a lot from my mistake over the months. I just hope to show to the judge this is usually not part of my character (through my grades in school, etc) and that she may consider a reduced penalty, possibly with no points, a monetary fee (likely) and possibly school.

Should I consider to plea no contest, not guilty or guilty?

Thanks everyone.
Clarification: I AM NOT TRYING TO GET ADVICE FROM AN ATTORNEY FOR FREE, I REQUESTED THAT THEY MIGHT OFFER CONSULTATION FOR A FEE!!! I am not gonna ask a lawyer for legal advice for free that's like asking a sales man if I can get free stuff...

Received a traffic ticket and never received the notice at home… Made the payment and still received notice?

Hi,

I received a speeding ticket in February and never received the notice at home. After 3 months, in June I went to DMV office to check my driving records and found out about the pending ticket and the ticket price was really high. I made the payment at the dmv office instead of the superior court. Even though i made that 0 worth of payment, I still received a notice from some debt collector receivable management company stating that I have not this payment. they told me that as I have not made my payment to the superior court i received this notice. I thought you can make the payment to the dmv office so i did that to stay out of trouble.

I told them that I have made the payment to DMV then that guy from the the debt collector comapny told me that it takes about 2-3 months for dmv to notify us that you have made the payment and it can still effect your credit history.

What should I do now ?

I am confused.

Hubbie got 3rd ticket in 12 months, how can I get him to stop speeding?

I am beside myself. He has just gotten the THIRD speeding ticket in 12 months. After ticket #2 (four months ago) he said "I promise this will not happen again". I just am so angry with him right now because it's not just the ticket (which based upon the last one will be over 0.00) BUT now we will lose our good driver discount on our insurance (with 2 points on his record). His driving has been an issue with us our whole marriage. He drives too fast and too agressively and then WE pay the price later. I have to figure out where the money will come from to pay the fine and the increase in our insurance rates. How can I get my message across to him that this has to stop?

Should I fight my speeding ticket?!?

I live in CO and I was dropping a friend off at the airport. He forgot his keys in my car so I was hurrying back around the loop to give them to him (he was running late for his flight) and I got pulled over for goin 47 in a 35 zone. The ticket is for 0 and 4 points, with a "plea bargain" of 0 and 2 points if you just pay it and don't fight it. I am more concerned about the points than the fee becasue I am under an insurance plan with my family and this was the last ticket we could get before our rates went up, so the points will cost more in the long run. A pal told me that fighting it almost always gets it dropped to a lower price because the officer rarely shows up, and I am totally willing to plead for community service because I volunteer a lot anyways, but is it really that likely that I will "win," considering that I was definately speeding? And do the points get reduced too?

A speeding ticket in LA county?

My boyfriend got a speeding ticket for going 95 in a 65 zone on the freeway and the cop didn't give us a price (this was in October, his court date is the 26th). About how much do you think this will cost? He also didn't have proof of insurance at the time but he does have it and the cop said they'd drop that charge when he showed proof. But we're not sure how much it will cost. Does any one know how much it will cost?
Just for refrence, this was not a crowded freeway, and people were not driving at 65, they were driving at 85 at the least. Therefore, he was endangering people just as much as much as anyone else on the same freeway.

I got a speeding ticket… does my insurance company have to know?

So I was driving home today and got a speeding ticket. I was doing "47" (which i definately wasn't) in a 35, but it was a school zone so it was actually a 25 at the time but the officer let me off on that one.

I got a 6 fine (which I'm OK about paying becuase I realize I was speeding and am fine with the consequences).
However, I'm worried about my insurance going up... I'm 17 and my insurance was due to half in price next month becuase I had a clean record. But now that I got a ticket, I'm assuming it's going to go up.

My mom got a ticket for rolling a stop sign a couple of months ago and used some form with a lawyer to basically nullify the ticket, but that can only be used once every 3 years per household.
So is there anyway I can get my insurance not to go up?

I live in North Carolina if that makes a differance.
Thanks :)

Can i fight this speeding ticket?

Recently I recieved a ticket for 6.00 for going 15 mph over the posted speed limit. The speed limit was 40 and I was put down for doing 55. The reason i was going 55 was that i had just turned onto that road from another road and had not seen a speed limit sign yet. Also i was going 55 because i remembered the road being 55 when i had used it before. Right when i reached 55 mph i saw the cop lights and it pullled out of the plaza. I slowed down just to let it pass me but then i realized i was getting pulled over. Finally i passed the first speed limit sign saying 40 mph. I told the officer i thought the road was 55 but still i recieved the ticket. After that i proceeded in the same direction only to find that not even a mile later, the road speed limit changes to 55 mph. A day later i went the same path to make sure there were no posted speed limit signs between when i turned onto the road and when the officer pulled me over. There weren't. Can i fight this? Is it worth fighting or will court fees and whatnot come out to be the same price as the ticket?
Thanks in advance

If an officer cuts you a break for a speeding ticket & you take it to court anyways can he change it back?

I got a speeding ticket that was changed into a failure to obey a traffic control device. It would have been 3 points and 139, but he changed it to no points and 109. IF I were to take it to court and the officer actually showed up, assuming i lose the case in court, first off could and would he change it back to a speeding ticket (i would get points), and second off could he change the price back to 139 from 109?

Can I get out of this speeding ticket? (details inside)?

I am stupid. I got that. but..
I am 16 and I was pulling out the school parking lot for lunch and soon got pulled over by a cop.
I sighned it and looked at the ticket later on...
He said I was going 39 MPH in a 25 MPH school zone. next to that he had three options on how he judged my speed, "pace", "radar", and "other". He checked other, so I know he didn't use a radar gun. I admit I was going over but not 39. I have a small Nissan Frontier and its a standard. When he pulled me over I was in 3rd gear and it was wasn't revving up like I was going to fast and it was kciking like I was going to slow. I believe I was going 30-35.
After looking more he wrote that I was 17 years old, i'm only 16. He also didn't sighn the ticket on the back nor write down the price.
Can I get out of it?

Speeding Ticket, Need help/ techniques fighting?

I received a speeding ticket on the I35 South In Oklahoma. They clocked me not by radar, pace, or lidar, but visually clocked me between two highway marks by plane. The plane was nowhere in sight- i know they lurk above and i did not see a single one. According to the OHP division F, they told me they use a stopwatch and then use the time distance formula to calculate speed. I know no way is 100% accurate but I need a detailed case I can use to fight. I got a speeding ticket- which to their convenience- at 96mph in a 70, i.e. (26 over instead of 25 over which falls in another price range).
I specifically had a UTI that day and I did have a witness in the car. I told the officer Im in pain and am rushing to the nearest exit (which is like one decent exit every 20/25 miles in this no man's region). COP was like you were doing 96, license and registration. I told him this, but of course I'm brown, he's never going to listen to me. I remember I was doin about 90 and my gps receiver said 88-92, it was varying with my speed. Im 19, but not your typical teen. Well mature and you would never tell i'm 19 without looking at my license. I'm very mature and not the typical reckless, drinking, driving, drugs, partying scene kid. I work full time and go to college 15 hours a week and don't have time to worry about stupid things my peers get into. I have a clean driving record, which I printed out from DMV. This is my first and only speeding ticket. Is there any hope in my case? Young, brown skin, teen? with basic knowledge of physics, I know for a fact that there is human error involved 1. in calcualting time and 2. the plane has to be exactly overhead to known exactly when I passed the markers.

someone please help.
