I’m a California resident who got a minor (under 10MPH) speeding ticket in Nevada. The Nevada Highway Patrol officer said I could take traffic school class online to keep the conviction off my record for insurance purposes. But do I need to bother, given that I got the ticket in Nevada and I’m registered in California? Thanks.
Speeding Ticket Traffic School Archives
step by step, please, this is my first violation (go big or go home, right?)
can someone actually tell me what i need to do next instead of giving me life advice?
something about the process of finding out how much the fine will be to enrolling in traffic school… that kind of information would be helpful.
I am being interviewed for a job at Cox Communications in a week. Part of the job is driving so they say you can’t have more then 1 moving violation in the past 3 years. Well I’ve been to traffic school twice, lost a bs ticket and I just agreed to take traffic school for a speeding ticket I received. I am wondering if the ticket I am awaiting traffic school on will show up on my record when they check my record. Any help will be appreciated.
I do not want this ticket to appear on my record.
Radar was not used and the officer wrote down i was going at 75+ at a 65mph zone. Like I mentioned, i do not want it to appear on my record.
i just got a speeding ticket today going only 20 over on freeway. others were probly doing 30+ and cutting me off but out of all of them I got pulled over. i’m planning on going to traffic school and just wanted to know if it’ll take care of the citation or even reduces the cost. i already know it’ll be taken off my driving record if i go.
Are there different levels to offer those who have a ticket or violations to reduce the fines? How long do you have to wait for tickets to arrive?
Im from Kentucky, ticket issued in Kentucky, on 75 north
I got a ticket sometime last year for speeding, and I did traffic school, and everything to keep it off my record. I got a new speeding ticket and it says I can go to traffic school, but only one ticket can be masked on my license in 18 months. Would they have written in the total of traffic school even if I am not eligable to take it again to mask this speeding ticket? If I do pay the ticket, and go to traffic school, what if they don’t mask it? What is the point of even going then? How would I find out for sure, what I can do?
I got two tickets last year and knew for at least the last one that I wasn’t eligible, but maybe the first one I went to school for…just not sure and don’t know where to call to find out.
I asked a similar question yesterday, but now have followups:
I got a ticket for turning right on red with a posted no turn on red sign in Illinois. I’ve never gotten a ticket before, and I honestly didn’t even see the sign. I have two options:
1. Plead guilty, pay a higher fine and go to traffic school (supposedly it will not go on my record)
2. Go to court
The officer was telling me if I went to court, chances are they would throw out the ticket entirely. I can afford the fine, and I don’t really mind having to sit through traffic school. But, would it be better for my record to try to get it thrown out entirely? What would I have to do in court? Would I have to say anything? Would I have to argue my case? If I go to court and the judge does find me guilty, will I then get the option to pay the fine and go to traffic school and not get the ticket on my record?
When will I get my license back? I need it soon because I rent cars for work travel.
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks
Does anyone know how much a speeding ticket is. Going 102mph in 65 zone in California. Also is traffic school available?
Hi, my license has been recently revoked after getting 3 speeding tickets. I am about to pay for the 3rd speeding ticket I received in March of this year.
Would it be possible for me to take traffic school 1.5 months after getting the speeding ticket? If I do take traffic school, will my license still be revoked or will I get it back?
I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help out.
I’m from Illinois.
Thanks,
Dan
cop said if i do traffic school and go to court it wont be on my record and my insurance shouldnt go up too much
i’m 17 and got a speeding ticket today for going 15 over the speed limit. i will go to traffic school for sure (4 hours) and i know it will keep the offense off my record, but will my insurance go up? if so, by how much?
by the way i live in illinois
thanks oklatom!!!
I’m 18 years old and I just got a speeding ticket. I also got one when I was 17 and paid it off/attended traffic school when I was 18. That was about 9 months ago. I got in an accident about 2 months ago (I was ruled to be 100 % at fault) which is just an insurance hike, period. With my recent speeding ticket, I was going 50 in a 35 zone (I live in California). My UTMOST priority is keeping the ticket off my insurance. Question 1: can I attend traffic school more than once in 18 months if the previous ticket was received as a minor although the actual date attending school was as an adult? If that is not the case, it would appear that my only option for keeping the ticket off my insurance is to plead not-guilty in court and hope that the officer doesn’t show up. However, I feel uncomfortable taking this kind of gamble. Is there any way to plead guilty and get traffic school under my circumstances? Any ideas for how to keep this off my insurance?
I was pull over in a "speed trap" pass a down wered hill In San Diego, This Motor COP from Traffic Division said I was going 48 mph in a 30mph zone, however he wrote it as 40mph on my ticket and spelled my middle name wrong.
Should I fight This Traffic "Infraction" or go to a California Traffic School,
I am a criminal Justice major in college and i feel I was wrongfully cited in a low-income neighborhood where this cop only used radar gun to justify his citation.
What are your opinions and how should I fight this injustice for revenue!!
Fighting thsi case is in principle not economical!
Court? I know you can go to traffic school online, do you have to wait to get the citaion in the mail? I live in San Mateo County, I looked up the San Mateo County Court and found nothing about the cost of the citation for speeding, does anyone know how much this will cost and how much online traffic school costs? What is the process for this, am I required to to go court? I am flipping out, first ticket ever, am very stressed and haven’t stopped crying, I just don’t know what to do. My boyfriend pays for the car insurance, car is in his name, he lives with me but his mail goes to his parents, will her find out or is there a way to pay the citation, go oline to traffic school and it’s over and done with. I am terrified………Any or all info. on the process of this, thanks much.
I received a ticket of going 96mph on a 65mph stretch of freeway in Los Angeles(Santa Clarita County.) On the citation they sent me in the mail, they mentioned NOTHING about traffic school. I already paid the 0+ fine. Should I go to traffic school to take the point off my record? Do I not have the option to go to traffic school since the citation they mailed me did not mention traffic school in one of the options? What if I enroll in traffic school anyway, without being pre-approved, will they point still be taken away? Thank you for your response in advance!
P.S I didnt want to go to court because I live 5 hours away from the courthouse.
I was pulled over in iowa earlier tonight for speeding–i honestly don’t believe i was going 50 in a 35, i drive like an old woman–and i was wondering if i could go to traffic school in order to avoid paying the ticket and have my insurance rates go up?
i would much rather do this cuz i’m a student and have no money.
I was going 40 in a 25 zone. Can I take traffic school?
If I have a speeding ticket and I am not eligible for traffic school, Should I plead guilty or not guilty? If I show up to court and say guilty will the judge reduce my ticket for seeing him or will he give me the whole fine because my last ticket was less than a year ago? Should I just plead not guilty and hope the officer doesn’t show up so I don’t have to pay the ticket and run the risk of paying the whole fine? Or should I just plead guilty and hope they reduce the ticket and still run the risk of paying the whole fine?
Three months ago I got my first traffic ticket, it was for speeding. I went to court and the judge reduced it to a parking ticket and traffic school. I have until Feb. 25th to complete the traffic school. Yesterday, I got another ticket for an unsafe lane change. I was stupid and I miscalculated how much time I needed to get over to my exit…My mistake and now I have to pay. I would just like to know if anyone has any advice what would be the best way to take care of these two tickets. Should I go to court before I go to traffic school or should I wait until after I’ve taken care of the first ticket? If I go to court before I go to traffic school do you think I can get the judge to let me go to traffic school for both tickets? I guess I have one more resolution to add to my list…Be a safe driver. I hope I can keep from breaking that one again because it hurts my almost non-existent cash flow, LOL.
Thanks in advance for your advice.
