LA Superior Court will not allow me to take traffic school for my speeding ticket?
I recently received a ticket from the California Highway Patrol in
Santa Clarita, CA. The officer said I was going at approximately 92mph in a
65mph zone. I was probably going at 85mph at the most. This is my first
offense for any type of ticket in the 4-5 years I've been driving. They
are charging me 390 dollars and refuse to give me traffic school in
which a point would be added to my license. For crying out loud, it's my first offense and they won't give me traffic school?
How long do I have to go to traffic school after getting a speeding ticket?

I got pulled over for speeding in the SeaTac Airport. I know I didn't drive that fast...for I was picking up someone there and searching for that person. He said I was driving 50 on a 20 mile zone, then he said you were driving at least 40. Anyway, he tells me I will get my ticket in the mail. I am aware that a new law has passed in which I don't have to sign for my ticket so how soon should I expect my ticket to show up in the mail? I was also wondering though, how can I reduce my fine or go to traffic school to avoid this from being on my insurance? I just moved here from California and have no idea to what the Washington laws are with regards to traffic schools, etc.

Hi, I just want to thank you for helping me out on this. I am a college student with NO money. I got a speeding ticket on the 405 in Los Angeles (Compton Courthouse). I cant afford the ticket so I called the courthouse and they said I can go into court and ask for community service instead of paying for the ticket. But now I just realized that I wanted to ask for traffic school also so that I could have the ticket removed from my record and not get any "points". Will I still be able to do traffic school if I do community service for the ticket, or does the community service act as a guilty plea and go on my record (criminal or driving)?

I got a ticket for speeding and I am doing my traffic school online. I don't have to complete traffic school until october, but my car insurance needs to be renewed next week. Do they report the "point" to the DMV only if you don't complete traffic school? Or do they put the point to the DMV right away and then take it back off when you finish school?

Speeding Ticket Traffic School?
On 03/26 i was on my way back from chicago. I was in indiana, came out of some construction and i thought the speed limit was 70 so i was doing 75. Apparantly it was only 60mph. I recieved my FIRST ticket ever for doing 75 in a 60. I live in Ohio.

Do i go to court and get ask for it, does it have to be appointed to me. Can i go before i go to court. Can I just mail in the completion letter or certificate since its about a 5 hour drive from where i live.

Speeding ticket & Traffic School?
I was ticketed in San Luis Obispo CA (speeding + failure to yield to emergency vehicle) and have options to go for trial (0 bail) or traffic school (0). I wonder if I go for trial and lose the case, will I still have a chance for traffic school option? I also called the court clerk but she said it's up to the judge.
I feel I could contest for the yield to emergency vehicle so I want to go for court. But I would like to hear from your experiences whether I will still have option for traffic school if I lose the case.
For clarification: I was given 4 options
1) trial by written declaration (and submit 0 check)
2) Court trial ( submit 0 check with a written 'not guilty' plea)
3) Post & forfeit bail for 0 to close the case.
4) Traffic school (submit the fee of 1)
5) Counter Arraignment

My hope is that if I go to court and explain to the judge, I might receive lower fine (or lower traffic school fine). I admit speeding but I have a good reason for contesting the yield to emergency vehicle. In conclusion, I don't want to pay more than 0 that I need to pay for traffic school at the moment.
