How does a Misdemeanor (reckless driving ticket) in VA is translated into a MD resident driving record?
Hi, thank you in advance for your help on this one.
I drive a Dodge Charger 2008, I'm sure you know how easy is to drive at an insane speed on one of them. I was going to Orlando FL from MD when a traffic patrol stopped me just near to the border between VA and NC near the city of Emporia, the speed limit was at 65 MPH and the officer said I was going at 82 MPH, he gave me a ticket without an amount and ask me to go online and pay the fine, when I went back to MD, went online and saw my ticket and the word "infraction" on it, called the court and asked my fine, my fine is 1.00 which is alright to me, but then next day when I was ready to pay my fine online I realized they changed the word to "misdemeanor" I went online and search about this and found reckless driving (misdemeanor) in VA gives you 6 points and maybe 6 months in jail. I'm a resident of MD how this affects me and should I pay the fine or just go to court and what to do there, how serious is this for my clean record. Please help. Thanks.
