How To Beat A Speeding Ticket Avoiding, Contesting and Beating Speeding Tickets

What happens if I dont pay a speeding ticket in a state I was driving thru moving to new state?

i got two speeding tickets driving thru VA as i was moving cross country to TX (fyi, dont speed in VA this is how they may their money). i didnt have an address yet in TX so they used the one i just left. i am having all my mail fowarded from there but just got a place a couple of days ago. i have no intention of flying or driving back to VA to the court dates and i just missed them anyway. what is the liklihood of these tickets catching up to me if i dont pay them? i'm not into getting the points on my record. one was legit (yes, i was speeding), the other was bogus (i was going the same speed as everyone since i'm not stupid enough to try to get a ticket twice in their obvious triple-the-cop-on-the-hwy day) my license is from TX but is old and will have to be renewed in a couple of months. how much effort will they put in tracking me down? what happens if i get a ticket in texas? i havent got a ticket in 10 yrs and the few i've recieved in my life, i've paid right away.

  1. All but a few States are members of the non-resident violator compact.. This means that people who do not "fly back" to their court dates for tickets can have their home State licenses suspended for non-resident violator compact. Texas is big on this. I recommend that you contact VA and make a payment arrangement before DPS suspends your DL.

    See this link….http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-Resident_Violator_Compact

  2. So, how do you like the weather in Texas. muggy ?? I’d pay ‘em then you cant have anything come back and bite you in the ASS.

  3. seriously they will post a bench warrant and should you get stopped they will hold you for court . they can and will try your case in that state if both states agree . and will garnish wages .

  4. They have you name, your old address, your license information on you and your car. Not going to be hard to find you.

When you do not pay the tickets, VA will send a letter to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles advising them of that. Texas will then suspend your license and it will stay suspended until you pay those tickets. Almost all the states enforce each other’s traffic tickets.

If you get popped for driving while suspended in Texas, you get yet another big fine.

Pay the tickets, save yourself some grief.
