speeding ticket in georgia?
Okay, so I was going about 18 over and the cop pulls be over and says he clocked me going 30 over, but I told him there was no way that was possible. he then came back and gave me a ticket for 25 over.
I'm 18 years old, and have a class C license.
I went to my arraignment, and told them to move my case to the state. my hearing was in September, and i'd have class, so then i couldn't go to my hearing because of class. I called the state solicitor, and i tried negotiating with him, to just take a defensive driving course and accept the ticket. he told me that since I was under 21, and had gotten a 4 point violation, that my license would get suspended for 6 months! He then went on to say he wasn't 100% sure about this though, and that I have a chance that maybe my license won't have to be suspended, but he still thinks it probably will be.
I know lots of friends who've gotten these sort of citations, but they just accepted the tickets at the arraignments and took the defensive driving courses and didn't have their licenses suspended. I'll probably have to attend my trial now, but that's okay.
Can anyone tell me the truth about the whole defensive driving course deal and if there's any other way I won't have to have my license be suspended? at this point i'm desperate and don't mind taking the points or the fines, I just need to be able to drive.

It may make a difference how much over the speed limit you were going. Ultimately, it is going to be up to the prosecutor, whether he has, or is willing to exercise, discretion in negotiating your violation.
Good luck, hope you drive slower from now on.
