I was driving on 101 neat Santa Barbara, it was down the hill. Suddenly I saw a cops car and I applied breaks. I got the ticket and those are the details. I think I was driving around 80-85 before that. I was wondering should I contest or just pay ticket(0). If I need to contest, whats the best way? I live in San Diego

For cops to check your speed with radar or lazer they first need to estimate that you are in fact speeding. Once they guess your speed they then check it with a radar or lazer gun, usualy two times to get a good read on your actual speed. That explains the speed approx, and the max speed is the speed limit for the road that you were on. I’m pretty sure that the special is what he wrote your speed down to, although I doubt he would write you for 1 mph over. I would say to contest it, go it and explain how it was a hill, and the car naturally sped up, if you don’t already have any points, they will usually take the points away and just charge you more. I think it’s worth paying more for a ticket than have your insurance go up.

Retard, just pay the ticket and be smarter next time…
