Lost my speeding ticket, and I need to pay it… where do I go to get another copy, or do I need to?
I live in Alberta to start things off, in case that matters.
I got a speeding ticket a few months back, and the payment was due sometime soon–I believe Jan 22nd or 25th. I can’t for the life of me remember where I put it, but I want to make sure I get it paid on time. I tried looking it up but couldn’t seem to find an answer. Where can I go to either get another copy so I can pay it, or can I just bring my driver’s license when I pay and they’ll be able to find it on their system? I’ll keep looking of course, but it’s beginning to be an emergency as the day gets closer, especially since I can’t remember exactly which day it was due.

you need to go to the police precinct in the area of where you got the speeding ticket. They will be the only ones with the record. Give them your name and drivers id# and they will gladly give you the info so you can pay up your ticket .

In the US, you dont need the citation at all. Simply go to the courthouse in the jurisdiction in which you got the ticket and BRING YOUR ID. They can look it up on the system and tell you how much you owe. If you are late, then you likely have a suspended license in which case they will let you know. You will have to take the receipt to the DMV (Dept of Motor Vehicles) to show proof you paid the fine plus a reinstatement fee (typically about $35).
Hope this helps.

Contact the police agency that issued the ticket…that’s probably the best place to start. If they can’t provide a copy, then just going to the appropriate courthouse should be enough. They definitely would be able to find you in the system.

All speeding tickets are entered into a court computer within 1-2 business days. you can contact the court with jurisdiction of the ticket, and they will provide it to you. You will need you DL# handy.
