How To Beat A Speeding Ticket Avoiding, Contesting and Beating Speeding Tickets

75/70 speeding ticket in michigan.?

I got the speeding ticket today on my way back home on freeway. I tried to take over the police officer and I accilerated my car to 80 mph. He than pulled me over and gave me 75 mph (5 above the limit) ticket. He said the ticket adds no points on my record but I have to pay 120 $ fine. I basically have 2 question on this incident.

Question 1: He pulled me over when I was 100 mile away from my home in the same state. So the court I have to contact is 100 miles away from my home. I wish to go to court and fight the ticket. Can I go to my local court to fight the case and not go 100 miles?

Question 2: Should I even bother to go to court? Should I just pay the fine? I did tell him that I was going 75 mph when he pulled me over. Would he have video recording of that? And if I do go to court what should I say to get out of this safely?

Thank you all for taking time to answer this, I am anxiously waiting for replies and ideas.

  1. Yes, you have to go to the jurisdiction of the said ticket to fight it, but if the officer got you on radar then you won’t be able to beat the ticket, so If I was you I would just pay it and call it a ”lesson learned.’ I lived in Mich. for over 40 yrs. and I have had my share of speeding tickets, especially when I was younger.(Don’t live there any more, local Governments are too corrupt.)

  2. xD You shouldn’t have tried to overtake a police officer. I’m usually not rude but that was stupid. Maybe you should pay the ticket and regulate your speed when driving around officers…who are looking for people just like you. Be careful,…be smart. Cheers.

  3. You just shook his fragile ego so he unleashed his petty authority granted by the state to stick it to you.

  4. just pay it. it will be easier

  5. Fighting it will do no good, as the officer was in the right for giving you the ticket……It sounds like he gave you a break not giving you one for 10 over the limit…..

I would pay it and chalk it up as a lesson learned…
At least you wont get points.
