Hopefully the judge will sympathize and rule for a lower sentence. OR 2. Hire an attorney in your area that is more knowledgeable in local traffic laws. I know that hiring an attorney sounds like wasting money, but speeding cases don't cost very much and having representation could help you since they are more knowledgeable in the law. In some cases they could even convince the prosecutor to dismiss it and depending on the laws in your state you may not even have to show up for court if you hire an attorney. You have two options.
