How To Beat A Speeding Ticket Avoiding, Contesting and Beating Speeding Tickets

Is there a way not to have to appear in court for a N.C. Speeding ticket if you live out of state? Over 81mph?

My sister got a ticket in Gilford county North Carolina,87mph in a 65mph she lives in Massachusetts. They want her to fly down for a court date because it was over 81 mph. Is ther any way around this. Don't care about the fine , It's just a pain to fly back.

  1. That’s reckless driving, she could lose her right to drive in the state.
I thought everyone knew not to speed in NC. Tell your Sis good luck she’ll need it.

  2. Yes there is a way. Contact an attorney in Greensboro,NC (Guilford County) and they can handle it for her in absentia. Might cost a little more, but it avoids the trip.
In NC 81 in a 65 zone is a mandatory court appearance, so either she or a representing atty. has to be there. If Mass. is a reciprocal state, a failure to appear will result in a revocation of her Mass. license until it’s handled. Good luck!

  3. She can drive and get there quick! It is for a speeding ticket.

  4. im pretty sure the only thing that will happen if she dont show up is they will eventually send here a letter telling her that she is not alowed to drive in northcarolina they suspend your driving privaleges but the cant come get you unless you have commited a felony or one other way is to contact a attorney in nc that handels traffic offences they may be able to help but probley the reason they want her to come is because anything over 15 miles per hr over the limit is considered wreckless driving put they really cant touch you unless they catch you in nc agin

  5. You should give the N.C. courts a call or see if they have a website (.gov). Sometimes courts you arrange to call in.
You can also check with your local courts about their procedures & ask if they can advise you on who to contact outside your state to deal with this issue. When you’re deal with law, it can be pretty frustraiting. The other option is just pay the ticket and be done with it, but it would be worth finding out more info and going to traffic school to keep it of your record.
