Should I pay a speeding ticket I received in Puerto Rico?
I recently received a speeding ticket in Puerto Rico (yesterday, going 71 in a 65). Should I pay this ticket? I was driving a rental car from AVIS. I live in Michigan who is not part of the state compact on speeding tickets. What will happen if i don't? Will my insurance go up? Will my passport be "marked"? I only have 3 more days here please HELP!!!!!!

Nothing will happen. Unlike the 50 states that share a link on driving records, Puerto Rico does not. It only shares to Florida, New York and California (maybe).
Last year I received three speeding tickets ($100) and when I went to renew the vehicle registration nothing showed up. So, I would take my chances and not pay.

Do you ever want to go back to PR? I'd pay the ticket. Especially if you were doing 71 in a 65. I have never fought a ticket that I earned. By the same token, I have fought most tickets that were unjust.

Do you plan on going back there anytime soon? If not, screw it. I wouldn't pay it. If you do spend a lot of time there or plan to in the future, you may as well pay it then.
