What happens if I forgot to pay a speeding ticket in Sandy Springs, GA?
I got a speeding ticket in Sandy Springs (Fulton county). I forgot to pay it-- no real reason, it just completely slipped my mind. It was supposed to be paid by 8/14; it's now 8/19. I called the office but it's after hours and I tried to pay online but it's not coming up (I guess since it's overdue).
On the ticket it says your license is automatically suspended if you don't pay in time. It doesn't say anything about a warrant or increased fines. I have a couple of questions:
1. When your license is suspended, do you get it back when you pay the ticket or is it suspended for a set amount of time?
2. How much can I expect to pay for this? I got a ticket in Dekalb county a few months ago for an incomplete stop and paid a whooping 5.
3. Complicating the issue is the fact that I've lived in Atlanta for 2.5 months now and have yet to get a GA license. I know that's bad, but it took me forever to find the right documents to switch it over. How could this potentially impact the situation?
Sorry this is long, but I'm freaking out, especially since I just got hired for a new job and signed a background check waiver. I doubt they'll rescind the offer, but it won't look good if there's a warrant out for my arrest.
Thanks!

You live in Georgia and did this?I would seriously be worried. Those cops there will arrest you for anything even if you did nothing wrong. It’s called being rednecks and having serious power tripping problems on their part.
