If he is convicted, he will likely have a hearing with a federal judge on the issue.

i dont think that he will be deported for domestic violence. my sisters ex is illegal and he has been arrested time after time for drinking and driving, domestic violence, two car accidents totaling the other vehicles involved and no license and he is still here.

Stay away from the thieving attorneys, and don’t create an issue that you that you don’t have, if and when you are picked up by the authorities then seek out an attorney.

Somebody is lying to somebody. Immigration charges nothing to answer your question. Either the lawyer is lying to get more money (which I doubt) or the hubby is lying to get money from you. In either case, just tell the guy he made his bed, now lie in it.

Domestic violence is a crime involving moral turpitude and therefore makes your husband deportable under immigration law. If it is ever reported to DHS (sometimes this takes a long time) he can loose his residency.

You need to fight this domestic violence case tooth and nail. You may need to get two separate lawyers-one for the criminal case and one for the immigration case. Find a new attorney if you don’t believe this one is worth 1,000.00 (pretty cheap for this type of case, really) But I am assuming that 1,000.00 is a small price to pay to stay in the country legally.

violence are a very serious crime specially against women. If you are living in a foreign country you must be very careful regarding your behavior, no matter what the situation or conditions. It’s up to the court to find him guilty and i normally trust any court of law specially in the more advanced countries.
I am from a 3rd world country myself and i trust and obey the outcome of the courts decision. If the court find him innocent there are no ways that he would be deported.
