How To Beat A Speeding Ticket Avoiding, Contesting and Beating Speeding Tickets

Plead guilty or not guilty to speeding ticket?

I got my first speeding ticket for going 14mph over. When I show up to my court date, what is my best course of action? I have a clean driving record. If I want to try and get it reduced to a lesser fine (like a parking ticket) do I plead guilty or not guilty?

  1. Plead guilty. Offer a brief, non-emotional apology. Do not make excuses of any kind. Try not to talk too much. Plead for mercy in getting a reduced charge.

Good luck to you. Speeding is not worth it when the insurance company jacks up your premium to double what it was. I should know.

  2. Why should you get a reduced fine? Are you special? Is your car special? Why should the court system give you a lesser penalty than they would anyone else? You were speeding, why can’t you just take responsibility for it and pay the fine like everyone else has to? You were speeding 14 over nonetheless. That’s a lot. You’ll get the max and a laugh if you try to plead a case based on ????? what…that it’s your first ticket…lol. everybody has a first. That your record is clean. Everybody starts out with a clean record. Lol. Do yourself a big favor and pay the fine before court. Get it out of the way and if this is your worst crisis thank God and learn from it.

  3. I guess plead guilty and they will lower the fine or plead not guilty and let the judge decide…(in SC they alway listen to the police even though they lie constantly…so most people just plead guilty)

  4. 14mph over speed limit — plead guilty and beg for mercy.

  5. You were speeding, you got a ticket, pay it. The fact that your driving record is clean just means that you haven’t been caught before. It does not mean that you never speed, run a yellow light, stop sign, ect. If you choose to go to court plead guilty, assume all responsibility, admit you were wrong, If you were speeding because you were late, state that, but also state that it is your fault you didn’t leave sooner. You try to plead not guilty you can bet that the LEO will be able to prove that you were speeding. Guess what, you telling the judge that your speedometer "said" you were going __ isn’t going to hold water. Judges tend to like it when you accept responsibility.

And stop speeding, then you won’t have this problem.
