My first speeding ticket, will my insurance go up?? ?
I am 18 years old, live in Texas and Im under my moms insurance with Gieco.
I got a ticket for going 91 in a 70, will my rate go up?
Im under my moms insurance and the monthly use to be to 0, but now its 9! Is it because of my ticket? or is it because i been under my moms insurance since i was 16 years old and when i turned 18 they raised it?

Naturally it’s because of the speeding ticket. Moving violations are what causes insurance rates to skyrocket. Teenage males are the most expensive to insure. About the only thing you can do at this point is just to slow down, not get anymore tickets and pay your mom for the increase.
Good luck.

I’m not sure how they do things in TX but here in MI if you get a speeding ticket on the expressway your insurance will not go up nor will you get any points on your driving record, but if they give you a ticket anywhere else it can. That’s what a police officer told me anyways. You might want to call you insurance agent and ask them if that’s why the ins went up.

~~In California for your first ticket you can attend traffic school then it will be taken off your record, so not insurance increase. If that isn’t an option in Texas, then you will see a large increase!~~

It’s the ticket. Always go to traffic school if that is an option.
