I have gotten 3 photo radar tickets for speeding in AZ the ?

I have gotten 3 photo radar tickets for speeding in AZ the same intersection and I know for a fact that this last one is way off, I have had an excellent record and I know these things are not calibrated correctly. It said I was going 46 in a 35 ... IMAGINE THAT... 11 over. Well i looked at my speedometer before , during, and after and it displayed 40-41. I need help this is a money maker if i ever saw one.

  1. Many of the speed cameras in use today are not installed or managed by your local police. Usually, it is the company who manufactured the speed camera, who installed it for the police and your friendly supportive county commissioners. Every time that camera photographs a license plate, the Speed Gun company gets a share of the ticket, and so does the police, but the police was not even nearby or controlling it. If the police wrote the speeding ticket and mailed it to you, it is legitimate. If on the other hand, the Speed Gun company issued the ticket to you, you can argue in court that the ticket is not legitimately served to you by the police, who also did not control the camera. Most speed cameras are combined with a radar gun, typically X or K band radar. If the radar gun used had not been calibrated in the prescribed time, the ticket can be thrown out. You have a right to ask if the photo speed trap ticket was written by the police or a 3rd party company who produced the speed camera. The police will never tell you this upfront. The best way to avoid these money traps, as they have nothing to do with safety as claimed by the police; is to use a Cheetah C100 Photo Detector or find a photo speed camera jammer using a light technology to defeat the camera.   2. 1st off, stay with me, this is a long one. I also live in Az. You are right. It is a total government piggy bank and we feed the beast it has become. When "The Man" saw the money making potential of these things, he only had to look as far as a reason why to put them up. They easily hid behind the mask of "safety". The decision to put up these "one-eyed" piggy banks happened so fast that thought was only put towards how to implement this new system, asap. No protocol on how to protect the rights of you, the driver were ever really established. Kind of odd, considering that these are here for you and your safety. (Wink wink) The private company that makes 60 bucks per ticket issued does not have to disclose the inner workings of their camera system. That means in court, you can not challenge the idea that these machines have any kind of "overall" design flaw. You can try to challenge the idea that the camera in question was not calibrated correctly and therefore, was not functioning properly at the time of your ticketing, but, these darn things are calibrated on a regular basis and so long as the technician has a check list with all of his checks in place, it will be assumed that the calibration was done correctly and then you lose. A scheduled calibration. Chew on that for a second. So if it is scheduled, would that mean that over a given period, the functionality of the camera degrades? Making it less accurate? Hmmmm. That would be your only hope. And you would have to hope its been a while since the camera’s last "check up". You will need a good attorney that is experienced with both traffic laws and fighting these kind of tickets. And I mean good, some kind of public defender or ambulance chaser won’t stand a chance. The attorney in the court room, "defending" the camera, proving that it works, proving your guilt (and I’m not saying you are) is not the assistant district attorney, or even an representative of the government. He/she is an attorney, paid for by the company that makes these things, and they are not the cheap kind. They are there to protect the 60 dollars a ticket they receive. They are also there to protect the (great big quotations here) """Integrity"""" of these camera systems. For if there were possibility for huge flaws, they would go right out of business, or make a better camera. They will effectively shut you down on the operation front too. So, now that you have paid an attorney a few grand, more than your 3 tickets combined, your chances are still slim. Between what little you are given to defend yourself with, and what you are up against, and the fact that the judge hearing your case hears about 300 others per day, just like yours, he is highly prone to just bang the gavel and say the same old junk everyone blabs out on this subject. Quit speeding and you won’t get tickets. I am sick of hearing that too. Its about principal, not speeding. To me at least. To avoid having salt rubbed in your wounds, I recommend just paying the tickets. Welcome to the machine. If we could all promise to drive 5mph under, everywhere we went, for just one measly year, we would in effect, be boycotting the photo radar system. These cameras are funded only for certain periods of time. If a camera, or a group of cameras is not producing alot of tickets in it’s area, they are turned off, taken down, or moved. If not a single camera takes a picture in 6 months, they might once renew the funding but they can’t afford to do it twice. The beast will starve. Besides, driving 5 under could save millions of barrels of gas, and cut emissions, making our brown cloud a little smaller. But I guess only in perfect land, right?
