Dealing with a speeding ticket when the main priority is keeping it off insurance and doing traffic school?
I'm 18 years old and I just got a speeding ticket. I also got one when I was 17 and paid it off/attended traffic school when I was 18. That was about 9 months ago. I got in an accident about 2 months ago (I was ruled to be 100 % at fault) which is just an insurance hike, period. With my recent speeding ticket, I was going 50 in a 35 zone (I live in California). My UTMOST priority is keeping the ticket off my insurance. Question 1: can I attend traffic school more than once in 18 months if the previous ticket was received as a minor although the actual date attending school was as an adult? If that is not the case, it would appear that my only option for keeping the ticket off my insurance is to plead not-guilty in court and hope that the officer doesn't show up. However, I feel uncomfortable taking this kind of gamble. Is there any way to plead guilty and get traffic school under my circumstances? Any ideas for how to keep this off my insurance?

You are an unsafe and irresponsible driver. You deserve whatever sentence the court gives you. You’re 18 and have already had more accidents and citations than I’ve had in 30 years.

I had similar experiences in my younger days. The way it was explained to me, the traffic school is a one time thing unless court ordered, and all it does is look better on your insurance and police records. I don’t see any way to avoid it. The insurance companies as well as the Bureau of Motor Vehicles work with public records. So if you get a ticket they will know about it.

You can get the ticket deferred. You pay an up front amount at court and your go on a 3 month ‘probation’ and then go back to court then pay another amount as long as you don’t get another ticket with in the 3 months. The ticket won’t go on your record or your insurance. . . .it just ‘disapears’.

Wow it doesn’t sound like you should be driving. You’ve gotten three tickets it two years. Ouch. This one will probably show up on your insurance because you’ve already used your one "get out of jail free" card by attending the traffic school. Keep your foot off of that pedal!
