Speeding ticket in CA, no mention of traffic school on the citation, take traffic school anyway?
I received a ticket of going 96mph on a 65mph stretch of freeway in Los Angeles(Santa Clarita County.) On the citation they sent me in the mail, they mentioned NOTHING about traffic school. I already paid the 0+ fine. Should I go to traffic school to take the point off my record? Do I not have the option to go to traffic school since the citation they mailed me did not mention traffic school in one of the options? What if I enroll in traffic school anyway, without being pre-approved, will they point still be taken away? Thank you for your response in advance!
P.S I didnt want to go to court because I live 5 hours away from the courthouse.

Traffic school isn’t ever mentioned on the citations. That is something that is brought up in the courts between attys. and the judge. If you already pled guilty and paid the fines, you cannot go back and take traffic school to get the point taken off, sorry.

Citations never mention traffic school, but citations also are not sent to you in the mail. What you received was probably a courtesy notice. If that notice did not mention traffic school, then your court may not allow it automatically for your offense. Some courts will not automatically allow it for speeds over 80 mph or for speeds more than 20 mph over the limit. You could still have gone to court and asked, but if you already paid the fine it is too late to do that. You cannot take traffic school after you have been convicted. (I think it doubtful that you would have gotten traffic school anyway at that speed.)
