How To Beat A Speeding Ticket Avoiding, Contesting and Beating Speeding Tickets

20Oct/093

Got a speeding ticket in WA state, but I have a CA license: which do I take online traffic school for WA or CA?

I need to take traffic school so it won't count against my insurance, plus the ticket is totally bunk to start with!

If you know the answer, do you have any good suggestions for relatively painless online traffic schools?
I don't expect to get the ticket dismissed, but in CA if you get a ticket you can take traffic school to prevent it from going on your DMV record and thus it doesn't hurt your insurance.
Is this the case in WA as well?

  1. You’d better check with the court that your ticket is against. They may not allow you to take traffic school instead of a fine.

  2. Washington’s Department of Licensing (DOL) does not sponsor a statewide traffic school program. Classes are instead offered by the court, according to the court’s discretion. Look on your ticket for the court’s number, and call to ask if it offers a traffic school (some courts may refer to the class under a different name, such as defensive driving). If yes, you can push your luck and inquire if enrollment will help in dismissing your ticket.

If a traffic school is offered, also make sure to contact your insurance carrier. Enrollment in the class could keep your insurance premiums manageable.

Classes cost from about $60 on up, and last about three and a half hours.

  3. don’t feel so bad. If you want to laugh read this. I LMAO
