How To Beat A Speeding Ticket Avoiding, Contesting and Beating Speeding Tickets

31Jul/0911

I just got a speeding ticket, I was going 54mph in a 40mph zone. How much will it be?

Also, what should i expect from the online traffic school. I live in CA , in the bay area.

  1. The statewide schedule calls for a fine of $146 for 1-15MPH over the speed limit. There is no $10 fee for every 1MPH you were going over. California has a 3-tiered schedule for speeding (1-15 over, 16-25 over, and 26+ over). You were 14 over, so coincidentally, the fine is going to be within a few dollars of $146, including penalty assessments. This will be closer to $170 with the traffic school court fee. Traffic school online is half the price of the in-person class and much more convenient.

    */End of Line.

  2. Online traffic school is kind of a joke. It’s all rudimentary things, but they have ways of making sure you read everything on the actual test they give you, so you can’t just take the final and be done. Theres too many questions about details to let you pass if you didn’t read all of them.

As for the fee, You would have to be more specific, the bay area is huge, and fines are decided by the cities. I’d probably guess 500-700$.

  3. A California speeding ticket carries one of the highest traffic ticket fine schedules in the nation. It is not unusual for the fine to be over $300.00. California also has some of the highest auto insurance rates in the nation. Combine these two factors and your California speeding ticket will make quite a dent in your pocketbook.

Check out the site for more info

  4. read the back of the ticket and for driving school, look online. here it’s like $40

  5. first of all don’t ever just plead guilty and pay the fine.

go to the clerk of court and plead not guilty.

they will give you a court date and you can start saving your money.

when that day comes you "may" get a chance to plead guilty to a lower charge or a non-moving violation that won’t get reported to your insurance co.

the court cost and your lost time will be worth the possibility that your case gets dismissed or turns into a non-moving ticket.

whatever you do don’t just plead guilty and pay the fine, that’s what they want and the worst thing for you.

  6. The fines are pretty hefty but not sure exactly how much yours will come to. This will go on your record.

  7. Your ticket will probably be around $175.00 (rough estimate) should you elect to simply pay it. (Unwise.)
You may be able to search the web for a court bail schedule in the Bay area.
Follow the instructions on the ticket as to appearance. Any court appearance results in a reduction of the fine. You may plead "guilty" , "not guilty" or "guilty with explanation." If you really feel the officer made an error, plead not guilty and you’ll have an opportunity to present your side at a later date.
If you’ve not taken a Traffic Violator Course (TVS) online, you’ll keep your ticket off your record, resulting in a savings on insurance.
    Good luck!

  8. A lot if you can skate out with online school.

  9. I think in california its $10 for every 1mph. You can check out http://www.ustrafficacademy.com/ for more details.

  10. Your asking the wrong people how much your ticket will be.
You need to call the courthouse in the county you got the ticket and ask them.

  11. The best thing to do is call the courts where your ticket came from and ask them. Also see if they will allow you to take a traffic school class. If so that would help you to avoid your insurance going up and a point on your license. I just took a court approved On Line traffic school class with http://www.TicketRelief.com. Very fast and cheap. Just make sure the courts give you the green light to take the class and that its court approved.
