I'm 18 from Texas i got my first speeding ticket… I'm really worried please read & help!?
I recieved a speeding ticket going 88 in a 65 coming back from a town about an hour from where I live...I told my parents I was at work but really I was actually very far away, they are really strict about everything I do which is why I am pretty down about this situation. I am trying to get this ticket stuff done so they won't find out... I got the ticket yesterday and signed up for Defensive Driving and started some lessons today, I haven't completed the course yet because I haven't sent my ticket back to the judge asking to relieve the ticket. I am really worried, this is my first ticket so I don't really know what to do does anyone have any advice on what I should do (is it okay if i am signed up doing DD now before i get the ticket relieved)? what I should send? If i should tell my parents? what is the process is like?

Thank You for your help guys I went ahead and told my parents. I figured that i would get in more trouble if they found out. They are angry but I feel alot better. If i had tried to take care of the ticket myself i would have done it all wrong (I showed the ticket and forms to my dad and there were many errors). I've really learned a lot from this very short amount of time.

i want to keep it off my record and insurance.
i don't have a problem paying it and i don't have a problem taking defensive driving
but i have taken the class alittle over a year ago and don't know if i am still eligible
also i have heard about the deferred adjudication. but dont know how to go about doing that?
i have also looked at a few attorneys lately and one said he would charge 125 for representing me, but would that include any other fees maybe like court fee or any other fees?
also i will not be able to attend the current set court date.

I don't have that much money. I'm sure id' be able to get the money if it came down to it, but if I take a defensive driving class, will I still have to pay the speeding fine? I received a speeding ticket in a 45 mph zone going 60. My fine is approx. 0. I noticed it says DSC fee 0, which I take it to mean "Driver Safety Course." If that is the case, is it worth going through the hassle of defensive driving, where I will probably have to pay for the class an extra -50 on top of the DSC fee, or should I just plead guilty and pay the fine?!? I already received letters from attorneys who want to take my case (of course), and one says he can do it for a rate starting at . I just want to pay the least amount of money and get my ticket dismissed without it going on my record. What are my options, and what would you guys suggest? Thanks for all your help and advice!

I got a speeding ticket (from a Texas State Trooper) a couple of months ago. I already sent in the form and fee to take defensive driving. I know my approximate deadline and plan to do the defensive driving class this weekend. My problem is that I have lost the ticket and don't remember what court/town it was from. The ticket, of course, is not on my driving record. Is there any way for me to find out where I got the ticket without calling every little podunk town between point A and poitn B (365 mile trip)?

So I got a speeding ticket about a year ago, but it was in Bexar County, Texas, I did defensive driving and it's clear, no record or anything. I just got one today for doing 63 in a 40 zone. My question is, can I do defensive driving again to clear the ticket, since it's in a different county, and jursidiction? If not, what should I plead, no contest obviously, but I was on the way home from baby sitting, so I was just tired and trying to get home since it was about 45 minutes away. I was coasting down a hill this morning on my way to school, and i look at my speedometer religiously. I was going about 50 in a 45, and i was about to slow down to turn right, and a cop flags me down.
He tickets me for 60 in a 45.
I am not going to bend over and take this.
Especially this time of the year.
The only reason I'm angry about it is because he LIED about the speed.
What are my options?
I've already taken defensive driving in this 12 month period.
But this cop... is sadistic. I'm not going to take this.

New York State Speeding Ticket!!! HELP!?
Last night, I received a speeding ticket outside of Syracuse. The ticket is for 91 in a 65. However, I do not think I was going this fast. It was very dark out, there was alot of traffic, and I was in the middle lane in a pack of probably forty cars. However, I do drive a bright red car, and that may have been why I got pulled over. I do not want points on my license, or a moving violation, and I do want to dispute the ticket. I dont know if I should contact the court beforehand and see if I can take defensive driving, if I should go to court and hope the officer does not show up, or if I should go and try to have it reduced! Any advice is appreciated! Thank you!

I had just stopped at a yield sign then she pulled me over so there was no way I could of sped up that fast and there were cars in front of me so for her to actually get me down the first street I was on would of be impossible from where she was sitting. Plus the street that I was driving down had been 35 since I have lived there and just like last week changed to 25 and I had no clue until she told me that this whole area is now 25. I know I can either plead not guilty, defensive driving or pay the bill. I just don't know which one. Do I have a good enough defense to plead not guilty. I had a passenger in the car with me and he said that it was stupid and there was no way I could of been speeding that much if any.
