Going to court for a speeding ticket?
I'm going to court soon for a speeding ticket. I didn't have to go but I always heard if you at least go to court more often then not they'll lower the fine or points, etc...
My question is what do I need to say / do to get a reduced charge? Or will the judge just assume that I'm there to get it reduced and offer something? Just never done this before Thanks.
If you get a speeding ticket. Do you pay before going to court or after?
I'm going to court to contest for my speeding ticket. I was wondering, am I suppose to pay first before going to court or after the court? Please let me know with your personal experience. And don't tell me to call them because they always have that g*d damn answering machine on.

I got my first speeding ticket, i know i was stupid going 16 over, the cop had pulled me over, felt bad and wrote my ticket out for 10 over. the ticket said i lost three points. im going to court to see if i can get points reduce and what not. Im only 16 years old and live in wisconsin.
Any advise for court?
At court will the judge know that i was really 16 over, or will all they know is 10 over?
i was also wondering if there is anyway to not have my ticket increase my insurance rate?
if i go to court and i get all my points back, will my ticket not show up to my insurance company?

I have a court date tomorrow and I think I have a good case. I (think) the cop was in a hurry and didn't have me sign the ticket acknowledging that I received it. Signing the ticket doesn't admit guilt, it just means you received a ticket. Also, the cop told me to just pay the fine and not worry about court - he also left "court date" blank on ticket - which I think is a violation of my rights. The officer failed to let me know I had the option of going to court and just assumed I'd pay the ticket. I think I might get out of the ticket on these 2 technicalities. Do I have a chance?

I just got a speeding ticket in MN for what the cop says was 71 in a 55. We were going opposite directions so I don't know how accurate that is. Is there a way to find out how much the ticket will be. Also, would going to court help reduce the fine or give me other options? What if I can't pay for it? Will I have a warrant just for having in sufficient funds or are there other options such as community service or jail time that I could just serve so I don't have to wait for a warrant then deal with it? Where can I find police requirements, if any, for “pacing” or “clocking” a vehicle in California?
In California when a police officer writes you a ticket for speeding and does not use radar of any type what meathods do they use and are there any regulations that need to be followed when using these meathods. For instance if a police officer was "pacing you" is there a minimum distance for which they must pace you before they can write you a ticket. I received a ticket for going 68 in a 40mph zone but was not going that fast. This happened at late at night and the road I was on was pretty empty and I don't remember there being any cars behind me. The next thing I know I am being pulled over for speeding. I am not sure how the police officer came up with 68mph. I am going to court to try and fight the ticket and I am trying to obtain information for my defense.

I was going 40 in a 30 mph zone. My court date is 4/21, but are there other alternatives for options I can do as opposed to going to court? Have you ever been succesful in going to court and having a speeding ticket reduced?
Tonight I was pulled over clocked at going 48 in a 25 and was slapped with a 0 fine and what will be four points on my licensce. I probably was going that fast but I don't know for sure. I'm not required to go to court and this was my first offense. I live in NJ. Has anybody had luck with going to court and getting the fine reduced and fewer points. If I can get the officer to bring it down to only going 19 over the limit I still get the four points but the fine will be dropped by . Do you think it's worth the hassle?

ok my husband is 20 he got pulled over in atlanta going twenty over the limit in speed trap we called and First they said it was 200 dollars then we called and they told us 410 we could not afford that so we were going to court so that by then we would have the money for it. well he is army and was away for the court date when we called they said i had to go for him so i went and when i got there they said they could take his licenses for up to a year. well can they take a colorado licenses from him in the state of Georgia and also what would have happened if we had the money and just sent it to them would they have suspended it with out telling us?
because 12 people got it in the same spot and i tried to pay the fine but they would not let me and they said even if he would lose it we got an attorny today to try and get the speed down by two miles and then he wont lose it

I have 3 previous tickets although none in the last 3 years since I took a driving improvement class in exchange for them not suspending my license. The police officer, when giving me the ticket, recommended going to court to see if they would reduce it. How do I do this? Please be specific. Ok heres whats going on. I already have 4 points on my driving record from 1 and 1/2 years ago. Monday evening I got a speeding ticket and with me wanting to get a job as an EMT I cannot have another 2 points on my license. I am planning on going to court and asking if I could pay the ticket and take a drivers improvment class instead of the two points being put on my licnse. How or which way should I ask the judge this and do you think he or she will do this(allowing me to pay the ticket and take a drivers improvment class instead of getting two points)? By the way I live in Michigan if anyone was going to ask. If I did take the driver improvment class will they drop the ticket or points??
is it possible to lower speeding ticket fine?
on 75 limit i was doing about 90~100mph, and the cop wrote 26 over, which is 340$. is it possible to go to court and ask to lower it to 25 over that wll cost me 240$ just 1 mph less

I received a speeding ticket on friday. I was going 60/45 and honestly wasnt doing that on purpose...When I noticed I was going that speed I hit my brakes to slow down but by then it was too late..
