The question is self-explanatory, but I was wondering what are the options available to me. I know that they have the 25mph penalty level thing, but I was going to 15mph over the speed limit. Traffic school?

I was pulled over in Kansas (Overland Park) for speeding. The officer issued me a verbal, and I thought that was the end of it (I did not receive a summons to appear in court). about a month later i received a letter from the city saying that I had missed my court date (I had received nothing prior in the mail regarding this). I called the "Justice Center", who told me the officer turned in the ticket to them. The only option I saw was to plead not guilty because the officer had issued me a verbal warning and had never physically issued me a summons. Can he retroactively issue me a summons without notice after issuing a verbal warning, or do I not have anything to stand when it goes to court? I would think it highly unfair that the police could do such a thing.

I live in so cal and was sited for speed contest with no radar/laser involved. officer said I was doing 80+ but I was about 80 ft from him before he stopped. I accelerated up to speed with a friend and then let off…that’s when I saw the officer and at the stop sign. By the time he caught up to me and pulled me over I was about 1/4 mile from where I turned right. He stated that "he had hadn’t even stopped and I was already gone." On the ticket it shows that I was doing 80MPH + in a 35MPH when it was actually 40MPH Zone. Also my bike was not impounded. Just wondering if anyone might have some insight on this.

Also I contacted a friend that was cited for speed contest he got his car impounded. He recieved advice from a judge (indirectly) about the matter. He told him to plead not guitly and take a public deffender. He ended up with a 0 fine and 1 point on his record. I am going to the same court house my friend did so I am hoping that the chances are that I will get of easier.

I passed a 60 MPH speed sign at 74 MPH and another speed sign just a hundred yards away of 55 MPH at 70 MPH. I pulled over immediately and got two SEPARATE speeding tickets. There are two different speed limit signs (60MPH-55MPH) within very close proximity of each other. One ticket shows 74 MPH at 60 MPH speed limit. The other at 70 MPH at 55 speed limit. Wouldn’t that be double jeopardy – multiple punishment for the same speeding offense? I’m willing to plead no contest and pay one without a trial but I don’t think it’s fair I should pay for two speeding tickets. I was ticketed only for speeding – not like I evaded anything. If this is legal, those who flee from police officers and pass 20 different speed limit signs in and out of the city – are they ticketed for each speed limit violation?

I don’t think so but then again I’m no attorney. An answer to my particular case is what I’m seeking.

i got one yesterday, and one today. i know i know, i have the worst of luck and was following traffic on the second one. i don’t need chastising. what do/can i do? do i go to court, hire a lawyer, pay the fees? what do u suggest?
they were both for 10 miles over the limit. also, what to do w/regards to my insurance?
ust one was in a construction zone… is the fee gonna be doubled or is it the actual fee written?

I was driving down Cajon Pass in Southern California. I was going with the flow of traffic, cars on both sides of me and in front of me. I didn’t notice I was doing 80, until I looked back and seen the officer. I pressed on the brakes and thats when his lights went on.

He wrote me and on my ticket it says approximately 80. No radar was used. Posted speed limit is 75. I guess what I am trying to ask, would it be worth trying to fight this? Will the officer show up in court? I heard if he no shows, I win? Whats the odds of him showing? The ticket is 0.00, plus I would need to go to traffic school…Any insight appreciated.
Ok ok, I get it. But answer me this, what makes one car get signaled out for the pack than the others? Is it the nicest car? The color? What gives? The officer wasn’t in my lane, he was in the far lane and came over 2 lanes to bust me….

I live in Florida, im 17 and i was clocked going 108 in Duval county on a 65 mph highway. I was given a speeding ticket, Im just curious is there anyone who has experience similar run ins and could give me some insight on this. counsins husband is cary person and complain about tax and fines. yet car fumes pollute the air destroying our planet. and he chooses to drive and drive to work and living in a hou se away from his work. and having a job that needs him to drive. i'm on benefits because ofd anxiety an dfeel that people like me are decriminated against because of the arrogance of others. ok so people work hard.and pay taxes that keep alive. but they use that to automatically relinguish responsibility for their actions. is there total outlaw in higher society for industrialism and right wing values or can anyone give further insight to the matter. please reply, you politic gurus.
