"Im sorry officer, my accelerator just got stuck"

This message brought to you by toyota, moving foward
Wait, why are we still moving foward? it’s speeding up, why is this happening? I think the pedal is stuck or something!! Oh god, hit the brakes! HIT THE BRAKES!!! we are heading straight for an intersection!!! (CRASH)…

Hilarious

The other day I was at the intersection red light pulled next to a cop. When the light turned green I was tempted to speed up to 45 mph quicker than him (not over 45). I wouldn’t spin the tires but I would have just accelerated past him.

Would this get me a ticket? Alot of people drive so slow around cops and even when you are going the speed limit the cops tailgate you it’s annoying

I was driving and stopped at a stop sign. as a cop was coming around a sharp, curve I pulled out then I get stopped. he goes you know why I am stopping I go no.
He goes you rolled threw the stop sign. I also paced you 38 mph up the hill. I said I don’t know how my speedo said 30 mph.

I was wondering how can he see me stop at a stop sign, when it’s dark out as I am going he is to the left of me 150yds back coming around a curve as I am taking off from the stop sign.

in his eyes it looked like I rolled threw it. as he was coming around a sharp curve I was taking off.

also there is noway the cop could tell if I stopped or not, the spot where he was coming around the curve there where cars in the lot plus some big ever greens and a sign, that blocks the intersection.

What can I do about this case, I have trial 3 weeks still have not received my demand for discovery
say I go to trial do not get my demand discovery what can I do.

If they do

I typed this paper up was wondering do I have the right to all this info

My name

Hi, I am a 17 year old male and I live in Florida I”ve had one previous ticket when I was 16 in November of 2008 for ignoring a street sign which I took the driving class for and got the points taken off. At the end of October of 2009 I was driving to a meeting for my schools student government association mandatory meeting and i got caught in a speed trap at the end of the month but it wasn’t a fair ticket at all. I was driving 46 in a 45 where I then crossed an intersection to a road where the speed limit is reduced after the McDonald’s to 25. The officer said before the intersection he clocked me at 46 and the speed limit is 45 then he then said he clocked me at 41 exiting the intersection which is before the McDonald’s and gave me a ticket for 41 in a 25 after he called my parents. The street where it is 25 is a cobblestone street and it is nearly impossible to speed and he clocked me just exiting the intersection and the speed limit hadn’t yet changed there was still about 200 yards. Is that fair or lawful that i got a ticket for not decelerating fast enough? It was a 0 ticket with 4 points and i can’t take the driving school because it has only been 11 months and not the 12 months in between tickets you need to take it again. Either way I don’t feel I’m at fault at all so I’m protesting it at court, I also can’t afford the points. I’ve talked to a few cops and they said if he shows and his equipment isn’t faulty he’ll win but I think I got the ticket just because it was the end of the month and they have to make there ticket quota. So my questions are is the speed limit posted on the sign valid for the entire road or just after you pass it like I assume and do I stand a chance of getting the points taken of or the ticket wiped away in court mid january? Since my first ticket i haven’t been speeding and I am a very good student and SGA vice-president. 10 Points to best qualified answer. Thank you for your time.

I was going through an intersection STRIGHT on GREEN on oppisite side they also had green the far left lane is used for making left turns a big sign is above light that says yeild on green there were 4 teenagers in that car I was halfway through intersection when they turned nothing I could do then the accident accurred I busted my head open needed stitches on forehead so whitch means a scar for life I was rushed 2 hosp n no one question me bout accident I also have a fractured hand n therapy 3-4 times a week 4 my head hand n neck after eveything I found info out the kids lied about who was driving n there trying 2 say it is my fault there defense is they did yeild I was speeding there were no skid marks at scene no tickets were isued I know there kids and kids get B they thought they could beat me either way its messed up in your oppinion do I have a case is it my fault or there’s please help

I got a ticket while I was attempting to make a left hand turn on an intersection. The cross street was one way. Please keep in mind that there was HEAVY traffic this day. This is what happened:
1. The car in front of me initially wanted to go left but then pulled her car over to the right attempting to go straight (no right turns since x-street is one way). At no time did she signal, I assume that she wanted to go straight because she moved her car from the far left of the lane to the right.
2. I pulled up to the left of her, with the intention of going left. I MAY have possibly went on the other side of the lane(the side that is going the opposite direction) by a few inches, if even. I do not remember there being a line that divided both side (but I’m going to assume that there is).
3. When I made the left into the intersection, I stayed on the left lane.
4. I then signaled to the middle lane, then signaled to the far right lane.
5. I get pulled over by a cop on a motorcycle and got written up for violating code 22100 (California)

This is what code 22100 states for my specific violation:

Left Turns. The approach for a left turn shall be made as close as practicable to the left-hand edge of the extreme left-hand lane or portion of the roadway lawfully available to traffic moving in the direction of travel of the vehicle and, when turning at an intersection, the left turn shall not be made before entering the intersection. After entering the intersection, the left turn shall be made so as to leave the intersection in a lane lawfully available to traffic moving in that direction upon the roadway being entered, except that upon a highway having three marked lanes for traffic moving in one direction that terminates at an intersecting highway accommodating traffic in both directions, the driver of a vehicle in the middle lane may turn left into any lane lawfully available to traffic moving in that direction upon the roadway being entered.

He said he wrote me up because I was not suppose to move forward and to the left of the vehicle in front of me. Now I have to break each and every rule stated above to be found guilty.. For example, when turning at the intersection, I did not make the left before the intersection(as it states in the law). I also made the turn onto the far left lane and not the middle or right lanes.

Are my chances at fighting this good? And yes, you have to break each and every element in the code. I did the research. The author of a book I was reading at Barnes & Noble says so. Please don’t argue that.
You must break each and every "element" in the code to be found guilty. TRUST ME! I did four hours of research on this.

You guys are wrong. You HAVE to break every rule? I did the research myself today at Barnes & Noble after reading a book about fighting tickets. The author states you have to break each and every element in the code.

The office clocked me going 60mph in 45mph at 11pm the other night. I accept responsibility for speeding but not for the red light infraction. He said if he was actually turning at that moment I would have hit him. I explained to him that the light was barely turning yellow when I entered the intersection and he said I can take it up with him in court if I feel differently. I have a lot of respect for law enforcement but he was really pushing the truth. Other problem I have is that he was in a straight only lane (there is another one to the right for right turn only. And second that there is 2 lanes, so he would have turned into the the 2nd lane since I was in the 1st lane.

Anyways, he was enough of a dick and overweight that he will probably show up, does anyone know of what I can say that would even have the judge consider the red light ticket dismissal. I understand the speeding, I was, I admit that but in court should I not admit it for the speeding issue?
If there are any law enforcement officials who could give me insite on how to question the officer to see his point of view. I am just wondering. Oh and 2 cent comments are a waste of time but I know they will come.

i was apparently going 43 in a 20mph school zone yesterday, although i do not remember my speedometer getting that high.
im thinking about going to court for it instead of just paying it.
my first question is what is my best option as far as insurance goes? this would be the first ticket on my record as i have gotten all my past tickets taken care of. (i believe. one of them i payed, the other one was a driving ticket that i got taken off my record by taking defensive driving)

defensive driving is not an option for me.

all i have for my case is this. You’re driving in Road A, which is a 50mph zone, turn left and continue until you reach a T-intersection. The left turn is where the school zone starts. i made another left at the stop light and got pulled over. but, there’s two things.
one:there is a school zone sign on the opposite side of the road which makes it seem that the school zone for my side of the road has ended. and for two, after you make the second left and you’re still in the school zone, there is one up ahead on the left side of the road, where the light flashes at you. so it makes it confusing.
do i have a snowballs chance in hell to get this ticket LOWERED? not trying to get it dismissed.
or is it a better bet to just pay it off? what options do i have to make this not make my insurance go up?
yeah i know. im just going to pay the ticket. but, imo and in my defense there were no children around, and other than that i was driving perfectly safe.

hey I need some accurate advise. so i was riding my streetbike yesterday trailing behind some harley. When he saw me in his mirrior he accelerated quickly to show off his bike. keep in mind that the speed limit is 40mph. anyways he was going around 55mph and i stayed in the speed limit give or take 2 mph. so after going down this road we come to a red light at an intersection. it turns green and i carry on in my travel. THEN red and blue lights appear we both get pulled over. I have never been pulled over in my life i am not an aggressive driver. the cop lets the harley go and gives me a ticket. he said he radared me at 55 mph when im sure he actually radared the harley. I WAS NOT SPEEDING AT ALL> I AM A RESPONSIBLE 4.0 SO DONT TELL ME TO TRUST A NEWBY POLICE OFFICERS JUDGMENT. The officer immediatly proceeded to write me a ticket. there is no arguement i can make even though he was wrong. its my word against his. i was unjustly written a speeding ticket. HOWEVER…. he radared my at 55 and wrote me a ticket for 50 when the speed limit was 40. Is this grounds for cancelling the ticket since the radar speed and ticket speed were different?? or would i be digging myself into a deeper hole? what are my options? Im 18 and i cant have a ticket on my record. I have no money to pay the ticket even though it was only 97$. What is the best resoloution? PLEASE HELP !!!!! THANKS

I got a speeding ticket more than 3 years ago (maybe 5). I never kept a record of it. I went to pay off the speeding ticket. I went to court and they gave me traffic school. I did not have a lawyer or public defender. That was my first time for a ticket. I got pulled over again on 9/27/08 around 1:00am for supposedly running a stop sign. My defense is I thought i had stopped, because it was an intersection and there were trees in the way. There was also no white line in the road at the end of the yellow marking. Supposedly they chopped off some of the tree limbs the next day. The officer told me there was some issues about speeding in the neighborhood and people not stopping at the stop sign. Ok late a night, come on, not many cars are around and people are usually a sleep. He told me he to me was enforcing the stop sign and had had gotten 5 people already. However, I am not sure if that was all for "running the stop" sign or if it was just for speeding. I also don’t know when his shift started. Actually I think it happened around 1:00am on 9/28. All I know is that I wanted to deliver some slices of cake. I would have probably gotten in trouble if I tried to offer the officer any cake, or he would have taken it, but wouldn’t change my ticket because of it.

Also, what if he was getting me for speeding, I had actually stopped at the stop sign" but he says I didn’t just because he knows that not stopping at a stop sign is a 3 point infraction instead of a two point infraction. Is it normal for a cop to get 5 people for not stopping at a stop sign in a short amount of time? Could that be held against him in the court, if a lawyer asked something like "How many people did you have to stop for what you considered to be running the stop sign?" According to Ms …. had you stopped 5 people before that night? What time frame did you stop these people?" Were they all stopped strictly for "running a stop sign", "speeding only" or both?

Is there a chance I can find out who cut the tree limbs and use them in trial?

I have two conflicting views about paying the ticket. My ticket does not require me to go to court, but I can if i want to testify or what ever. Person A is telling me I should fight it off because of insurance. Person B told me if its my 2nd violation in a certain amount of years the points would go on my record of course, but it should not affect my insurance. He said because his was not affected. I told him that person A told me I needed to try and fight it, because he couldn’t afford a lawyer to fight it, so he goes to court(even though I don’t know if he was required to) and gets points put on to his record, causing his rates to go up . Guy B explained the reason why that Guy’s A ticket went up was depending on when his last traffic offense was, any other criminal violations, he has a sports cars, and he uses his car for work purposes as a delivery driver. So that is why, his might have gone up. Guy B told me just to pay the ticket, is saying that it is better to do that than to to worry about the court cost, lawyer cost, ticket cost, etc.

Should I try to get off my parents umbrella policy in case something does happen? Somebody told me that everybody could be affected. However I don’t think that is fair to them if they were not driving the car. I read somewhere its best to change policies/providers before your insurance expires or rolls over to the next year. Is this true?

So in every body’s opinion should I fight it off just in case or am I safe just paying it?

I have been reading on the internet about fighting tickets. These things include asking for a continuance because there is a chance If I ask for a different court date that the officer might not be there. There is also something called discovery where I can ask the officer for his notes to prepare my defense. Is this true, and do a lot of officers given away their evidence to the accused and/or has anybody reading this ever asked for discovery? Has any of this help you win a case?

How many of you try to fight your ticket every time you get one? How often do you win? Did you fight your first one to every one after that, or only when it seemed to matter? Is it good to fight it, if more than one car or person is on your insurance, just so it wont affect other people?
ok to me there is innocent in the fact that I actually did stop at the stop sign. However not guilty or guilty with justifiable causes would be that ok I might not not stopped at the stop sign, I stopped but not in the right place, I did not stop because I could not see it because of such and such?

Ok first of all this was at a night, but at 1:00 am when not a lot of cars on the road. There was a police vehicle the next day up the road. My friend said he saw the police car again driving one night and just tonight he saw the police pull somebody over in the same area I was pulled over, but he wasn’t sure if it was for the same thing. It seems like that cop is just trying to get anybody he sees.

Well I just got popped but feel I couldn’t avoid it. I was coming up to a stop sign on a steep hill. At the stop sign, there is a 4 way intersection which I was turning left on. Cars were parked on both corners so I couldn’t see well. So I busted my left & a car is coming FAST on my butt. So I accelerate. Look in my rear view and here comes the federale. He "gives me a break" & instead of 42 in a 25 gives me a 30 in a 25. Oh thank you officer! It’s 7.

I want to fight it since I couldn’t stop in the middle of the intersection and had to accelerate to avoid being hit. I’ve heard of radar guns not being calibrated to manufactuer’s specs and people winning because of it. This ticket however doesn’t seem to be radar. It says in the Nature of Offense field Speeding and in other field "Robric". Under date equip tested it say 1-4-07 (almost 2 months ago). Is this sufficient to get this dropped? Any other tips on beating this ticket? Thanks!
To the knuckleheads that are trying to give me a morality lesson – keep it to yourself! I don’t care what you do-gooders think and could care less about your huffy attitude. Just answer the question that I asked – ways to beat a traffic ticket. I didn’t ask if I was at fault or not. Geeeesh!

And to all those that gave me sound advice – thanks! I appreciate it.

Some of you people think that your poopie don’t stink. Give it up!

I was driving down a hill into a small town in Michigan a few weeks ago. There are signs which say 25 mph and hill braking required. There were 3 cars in front of me. I checked my speed and was braking at 25mph.

There was a police officer wayyyy down at the bottom of the hill in the opposite/oncoming lane before the main intersection.

I was pulled over on the second last day of the month and told I was going over 40 mph but the officer only gave me 5 over with no points.

My husband was driving the car in front of me, and he was braking at 28 mph. Had I been driving over 40 would I not have ended up with my bumper in his backseat?

I have scheduled an informal hearing. Do I have a snowball’s chance in hell? :P

0 is a lot of groceries.
Also the officer wrote the wrong address on my ticket. Is that significant?

I have gotten 3 photo radar tickets for speeding in AZ the same intersection and I know for a fact that this last one is way off, I have had an excellent record and I know these things are not calibrated correctly. It said I was going 46 in a 35 … IMAGINE THAT… 11 over. Well i looked at my speedometer before , during, and after and it displayed 40-41. I need help this is a money maker if i ever saw one.
