Hi i just received a speeding ticket earlier today for going 15 over the speed limit. I am 19 (20 in 12 days), live in Missouri (and thats where i got the ticket) . I am just wondering how many points will i lose on my license as a result of this? On a side note i leave for basic training in two weeks so i am just going to have to pay it as i highly doubt that i have time get to a lawyer and all that to get it taken care of. Thanks for any help.

last night i got my first speeding ticket ever.. i was going 15mph over 50mph and i was polite to the cop and everything. the cop said the court is optional and the fine is 5.. i really dont mind paying for the ticket but i just dnt want the insurance to go up.. the car’s under my dad’s name and he’s paying for insurance since i’m paying for my college tuition (yea and i got no financial aid so i’m really struggling with money) i really dont want my dad to be mad about the insurance.. so what should i do? i know i should go in to court and talk to DA, but should i hire a lawyer? or should i just "negotiate" about the ticket? do you think DA could dismiss the ticket if it was my first ticket?
helpfuk advice would be greatly appreciated.. thanks
I’m 19 and recently recieved a citation for underage consumption of alcohol. I haven’t had any other charges/convictions relating to this in the past, just speeding tickets. I spoke with one attorney who gave me a quote of 5 not including court costs – that’s way too expensive. Anyone know of a cheaper lawyer? HELP!
I recently got a speeding ticket for going 60 in a 35 zone. I have never gotten a ticket before, for either a moving or parked violation. What should I do at the courthouse? I’ve heard I can request Prayer for Judgment. How does that work? Is that my best option? Should I hire a lawyer? Please only answer if you have some knowledge about the North Carolina system.
Thanks!
Beat a speeding ticket without hiring a lawyer. Step by step instructions to beat a speeding ticket. How to fight a speeding ticket and win? Is there a way to get rid of a speeding ticket?
I live in NC and incurred a speeding ticket in Gordonville, MO while on a business trip. Gordonville is located in Cape Girardeau County. I’d like to ensure that this ticket doesn’t affect me, and the officer who wrote the ticket advised that I speak with a case lawyer in MO, but how do I find one? Should I just call the courthouse and ask for one?
I don’t know if I should pay 229.00 for a lawyer to handle the ticket or should I go myself and get defensive driving? I am a student and don’t have funds and will the lawyer make a difference than if I go? HELP!
I got a speeding ticket in NY and i’m from VA. I was cited for speed, "not reasonable and prudent." It was a local cop (Cornwall) and they didn’t get me with a radar gun and estimated my speed–not very accurate if you ask me. The blank on the ticket for the speed I was going is blank. Should I plead guilty and take the fine or plead not guilty (is there a good chance I could beat this?) If I plead not guilty, I will have trouble making a court date and I really don’t want to pay a lawyer if I can beat this myself.
I got pulled over and the cop asked me how fast i was going and i kept saying the speed limit (45) and she says she estimated me going above 70 but didn’t get it on radar so she couldn’t be sure. I had a passenger who did not know how fast i was going.
The ticket was for 22 over in a 45. Where do i look for a lawyer? Should i represent myself? The legal defense kit from the NMA looks good (https://www.motorists.org/ldk/order.php). Any advice greatly appreciated. Got until Feb court date to get things together. Also, how will this affect my insurance rates?
i see ticketing as a way of generating revenue for the state. in 11 years of driving i have never had an accident and 0 dollars of revenue for the state could be thousands of dollars of extra insurance for me. I am going to fight this ticket so no stupid advice like, "just pay the ticket and stop being a baby."

i am guilty for sure. let me remind you that the gov’t wants you to give up. look at oj simpson. he got away with murder. all i need is to put up a fight.
i live in miami florida i was going 50 not 60 the officer said if i go to traffic school i do not have to pay is this true?
on the ticket it says i dont have to appear in court
i dont have money for a lawyer
I went to traffic court and they did not offer me anything but said if I plead guilty then I would lose my license. I don’t think that my license is close to 12 points. They recommended that I go to trial. Should I get a lawyer?
I am 29 years old and live in Wisconsin.. So what will happen at the trial?
I was going 60 on a 45 mph just before it turned into a 55 mph… I called the courthouse (because the fine isn’t my problem, it’s getting points on my record and having my insurance go up) and they said the only way I could have the points dropped off is to get an attorney and have a formal hearing. My sister got a ticket a couple of years ago and the police officer didn’t show up so it was thrown out of court and she didn’t get any points on her record. I was hoping this was still the case, and what should I do? I’m pretty sure the cost of a lawyer is nothing compared to what my premiums will go up to…
I recently attended a traffic school (4 hour) and after few days I was issued a speeding ticket. If I pay fine and request for traffic school. Would I be getting traffic school (8 hours) or conviction would be reported to my driving record.
Should I accept and pay fine or should I engage lawyer to help with the ticket?
Please suggest on how should I handle this ticket. Thanks
Twice I have been pulled over late at night coming back from Florida,inTyronza Ar.on a State Hwy. by a City Police. This Town is off Hwy.63-N.
Will fight ticket, but it is in their own town and their own court.Need a Lawyer and advice ,as to who I should complain to.Anyone that has had this problem ,please let me know. This is Trap and dishonest Practice, that needs to stop.
The policeman was sitting at the end of a work zone at midnight headed in the same direction I was going. In front of him speed limit 65zone.Car behind me pulls over when police put lights on 2 minutes passed. He come after me,and tell me I’m doing 70 in a 55.Isee this guy ,have been pulled over before ,know the speed limit have a truck ,that want do 70 ,but in a straight away.Hetells me that he will give me a city violation for hazardous driving,so Iwant get any pts. of my driving record because it’s cleanIwasn;t doing anything to bebin with, but trying to go home.Ineed proof.
And vcrlobste ,you are a moran,or the ass…. out their giving out tickets in this manner.
How much are average court costs in Ohio when you fight a speeding ticket?
I was wondering if some one knows what are the fees that the county may asses (ballpark figure) if I end up fighting my speeding ticket with a lawyer representing me. I am trying to estimate if the entire cost is worth it or if I should pay the higher insurance for 3 years. The ticket I got would be 4points in my state
I’m thinking about getting a lawyer or should I just pay the ticket and hope it won’t get reported to my insurance company
Will the lawyer help lower the driving points or allow me to plead no contest if my driving record is clean?
I was pulled over almost 2 months ago and my court date was 2-3 weeks it was for unlawfull turning and speed contest, I hired an attorney he went to court but he told me that the court postponed my court date because the officer who pulled me over lost my ticket the speed contest ticket and when he gave me my ticket he gave me one ticket with both of the violations unlawful turning and speed contest so how would he lose my ticket and fail to file it , if he had it on one ticket.
My main questions are if they can’t find the other ticket what will happen? [my court date was postponed to august]
and my other question is that my lawyer has been looking like crazy if I have a warrant but he cant seem to find my case or warrant if I have one, What if I get pulled over? how do I find out if i have a warrant?, and If I get pulled over and I do have a warrant which I shouldn’t I havent missed court what if I get arrested because they lost my ticket what can I do?
thank you for your time and reply if you chose to do so.
also they cant find my case number for the sperated ticket which they weren’t suppose to do, Cant they put in my name and find it?
since they cant find it that means it was never filed right?
The ticket was for going 82 in a 65. I have gone before and had good results and this one would be a drive for a court date I just wasnt sure how it would turn out with a lawyer.
I was going 82 in a 65. I have a clean driving record and I was just zoned out due to I was going to a Hospital out of state due to a friend being in a motorcycle accident.

Hello, I got a ticket for going 29mph in New York City. Instead of plead guilty and take the fine and 6pts, is there another route I can go?
With other tickets that I have gotten like tailgating and improper signaling, I had a lawyer go down for me and get the charge dismissed, etc.
With speeding if I have the lawyer go down, can I get my speeding ticket reduced to just fines or lesser pts.
the question is, where can I find the informations about the penalty points and the driving violation fees regarding the:
speed ticket
no seat-belt for child under 16 year old?
DMV of NYS or NYS Department of Transportation websites were really confusing. I cannot find the informations I need.
Another question : would it be better to buy a lawyer or to just pay the fees? I really need help..!
