How do I prove that I have already paid for a speeding ticket from ten years ago?

I received a speeding ticket and paid the fine ten years ago and of course didn’t think about keeping a receipt for that long. They are now claiming that I never paid them and have added a fine since they are saying I failed to appear. Can someone please help?

This might seem a little odd of a question.. I live in Los Angeles.. I received a speeding ticket that I plan to pay online. If I pay it online, do I still have to show up at the Courthouse for any reason? Maybe to receive a receipt or something?
