I got a speeding ticket 2 months ago for speeding, The officer wrote the wrong address so I never received anything for it. I called the courts with my citation number and they told me it has not been filed and to call the police dept. My question is should I call? If I do call maybe they will make another one and send it out. Could it of been lost or forgotten. Should I just leave it alone and wait it out?
I was pulled over for travelling 39 in a 25 in a remote area in Maine by a unmarked Maine State Police vehicile. Upon the traffic stop I was told to pull into a private lot.
I was asked what I was doing in the area I answered "Going for a drive."
I then asked the Trooper why I was pulled over. He answered "You were going a little fast, 39 in a 25."
The road was a long straightaway near Skowegan(SP.) and I did not see a 25 mph listing.
Without any other communication, a Maine State Police K9 unit was called to the scene. No further questions were asked by the Troopers and the dog did not signal anything to the best of my knowledge.
The K9 unit left and the officers left me with a speeding ticket totaling around 0.
The Trooper issued the ticket to my former address (ny new address was affixed in sticker form on the back, per MA law).
The area I was in is an extremely long drive from my home so I want to know if I fight it, where would the court date be?
Will this affect my MA license if I simply pay the fine?
Is this a beatable ticket in Maine possibly based on the wrong address?
Is this a moving violation against my license and insurance in MA?
I was pulled over for "supposedly" going 49 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. It happened in a little town called Northmoor, Missouri and the officer clocked me at the very top of the hill. Now the most I recall going looking down when I reached the top of the hill was 40 MPH. When I saw the first posted sign stating the speed limit I slowed down and was actually going 35 MPH. About a block down the road the cop pulled me over. I told him I was that I was only going 40 at the most but he said he clocked me at 49. When he issued me my ticket he wrote down 48 instead. Its been almost two weeks since the ticket was issued and I never recieved it in the mail. I just got off the phone with the court clerk and it was returned because it had the wrong address. The clerk said the ticket would cost me to pay. This is my first speeding ticket ever. I’m really good at following the speed limit and usually catch myself only going about 5 over. When I see it I slow down and use my cruise control.
Now my question is should I pay for the ticket or should I pay my lawyer 5 to take care of it or handle it myself. I had the court date extended because I will be out of state so my new date is Sept. 21st. If I decide not to take this to court do I have till the 21st of Sept now to pay for the ticket?
I’m upset because I never speed and this is my first ticket since I have had my drivers license which has been 12 years. Do judges usually give you one warning if you go to court and its your first offense?
I was driving down a hill into a small town in Michigan a few weeks ago. There are signs which say 25 mph and hill braking required. There were 3 cars in front of me. I checked my speed and was braking at 25mph.
There was a police officer wayyyy down at the bottom of the hill in the opposite/oncoming lane before the main intersection.
I was pulled over on the second last day of the month and told I was going over 40 mph but the officer only gave me 5 over with no points.
My husband was driving the car in front of me, and he was braking at 28 mph. Had I been driving over 40 would I not have ended up with my bumper in his backseat?
I have scheduled an informal hearing. Do I have a snowball’s chance in hell?
0 is a lot of groceries.
Also the officer wrote the wrong address on my ticket. Is that significant?
I recently moved (within the past month) and got a speeding ticket the other day. I never changed my information over on my drivers license so it still has my old address. A friend of mine was pulled over for speeding but also never changed his address. Instead of a speeding ticket he was issued with something like "failure to inform DMV of address change". So, on the ticket it has my wrong address. Can I get it thrown out because of this? Thanks!
